This 1971 Chevrolet Corvette is finished in Steel Cities Grey over black vinyl and is powered by a numbers-matching 350ci V8 mated to a THM400 automatic transmission. Equipment includes power steering, brakes, and windows, as well as air conditioning, T-top panels, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel. The seller acquired the car out of long term storage in November 2019, and subsequent work is said to have included replacement of the brake calipers, valve cover gaskets, ignition components, engine mounts, tires, and more. This C3 Corvette is offered with the a clean Pennsylvania title in the sellers name.
This example is one of 1,591 C3 Corvettes finished in Steel Cities Grey (988) for the 1971 model year. The seller notes chips and crazing in the paint, the condition of which is shown in close-up images in the gallery below. Equipment includes removable T-top panels, pop-up headlights, and a dual exhaust system. The seller notes that a chrome bolt has been inserted into a previously-drilled hole in the split rear bumper.
The 15 inch rally wheels wear chrome hubcaps and beauty rings and are shod in BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires that were reportedly installed by the seller. Power steering and brakes came equipped from the factory, and the calipers are said to have also been replaced by the seller.
The interior is trimmed in black vinyl, and features a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power windows, and air conditioning. The AM/FM radio, horn, and clock are not functional.
The five-digit odometer shows 56k miles, approximately 150 of which have been added by the seller, who notes that the trip odometer is inoperable. The windshield wiper blade door is said to intermittently open when the vehicle is running.
The 350ci V8 was factory-rated at 270 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, with power sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission. The car was reportedly stored for a number of years before being acquired by the seller in 2019, and subsequent work included replacing the fuel tank sending unit, shift shaft seal, valve cover gaskets, and engine mounts. Additionally, the points, condenser, distributor cap, rotor, and spark plug wires were replaced and an oil change was performed.
The engine block stamping #11S119971 matches the last seven characters of the vehicles chassis number. Additionally, the CJK suffix shown above corresponds to the 350ci V8 with a THM400 transmission.
