Car history: |
THIS IS A VERY RARE NUMBERS MATCHING L-88 CORVETTE. ONE OF 116 PRODUCED IN 1969. EXTERIOR: Built in December of 1969 she is a lifelong California car and as such the frame looks great. I did not even spot surface rust on it. The body looks excellent considering this car was built to race. The front end appears to have never been off of the car and while I could tell that the right front fender had been replaced at some point in time it appears to have been a professional job. The car has been restored with its correct white exterior. The paint was recently done and it is a two-stage color sanded and buffed paint job. The car is optioned with tilt-telescopic. All of the weatherstrip is new. I had a brand new set of redlines put on the car. All of the chrome has been redone and appears as new. All of the emblems are GM and they are new as well. You may also notice the side fender louver inserts. The car is gorgeous. INTERIOR: The interior has new seat covers, door panels, carpet and center console. The dash has no conspicuous blemishes. The gauges all work and their faces look great. You will notice the 6500 redline tachometer and the L-88 trim plate. The correct radio delete plate is in place. The only other option on the interior is tilt-telescopic steering. The correct 1969 seat belts are in place and functional. MECHANICS: The block, the heads and the intake are original as you can see in the pictures. The former owner was trying to make the car streetable so he added a fan shroud to keep it cool!!! We are in the process of correcting the motor compartments appearance. The motor was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago and it cost over $5500. The transmission and the rear end were rebuilt as well in the same timeframe. Of course documentation accompanies the car. The former owner rebuilt the motor to 10:1 compression so he could run pump gas in it. The car sounds awesome and is the real deal. The correct TI box is in place and the car is having the correct distributor reinstalled as it accompanied the car. The exhaust is new, and both the front and rear suspensions look great, their bushings look like they are in good shape. This car is a blast to drive! The part number on the Block is 3963512 Date Code 912J Engine Stamp OMR 19S737632, January 12, 2008. |
