Car history: |
1973 CORVETTE LS4 454 AUTO, (ALL NUMBERS MATCHING CAR). Let me start out telling you that I am selling this car for a close friend of the family.
This 1973 Corvette LS4 was purchased new in Peru Illinois on 11/8/72. Here are some of the options that it has, C60- A/C, J50- POWER BRAKES, LS4- 454CI/275HP, M40- 400 TURBO TRANS, N37- TILT-TELESCOPIC WHEEL, N40-POWER STEERING, U58- A/M F/M STEREO RADIO. This car has only had three owners and has been extremely well cared for. You can tell when you look at it- anywhere you want, top to bottom this is really a nice car. There are no hidden repair spots or rust in or on the frame. There are no body patches or seam repairs anywhere on this car. This '73 has never been in a wreck. The paint is 952 Bright yellow and it is the original color of the car. It has had one repaint back in August of 2006 and still shows very well. I would give it a 9 on a scale of 10. The interior is 404 Blk/L and shows some signs of wear but is still in great shape. The front carpet was replaced about the same time the car was repainted. The T-tops do not leak and fit perfect. The door rubbers and window rubbers are all new. The doors close with that solid thud sound. All of the gauges work except the clock. The odometer shows 42,507. All lights and signaling devices work perfectly. The head light vacuum controls work perfectly, they come up and down fast. It is sporting a new set of Goodyear Eagle G/As on the factory 15x8 rally wheels. The engine and transmission were also rebuilt about 2500 miles ago. The engine was bored 30 over with new forged pistons. The crankshaft was turned to 10/10 and the rods were resized. The complete rotating assembly was balanced. The heads were completely torn down and rebuilt with new guides and seats. The valves were replaced and the springs were replaced to match the new camshaft. He picked out a cam that was a little bigger than stock that gives it that nice big block lope. The distributor was updated to a new billet aluminum tach drive HEI distributor. He also had the carb updated to a Holly with electric choke. He had a set of Sanderson ceramic coated block hugger headers added as well. The A/C Compressor and brackets were left off by the second owner and were never received by the current owner. The engine is very strong and runs well. It moves this car right on down the road with very little effort. It starts right up first time every time. The 400 turbo was rebuilt and a shift kit was installed at that time. The trans shifts perfect not to soft but not to hard to break anything. The entire rear end was rebuilt, new bearings and a new set of 3:73 ring and pinion gears. The factory posi unit was replaced with a new Eaton posi unit. The only reason he wants to sell it is that he has been looking at some C-5 Corvettes that he wants me to twin turbo for him. Dont miss out on this nice C-3, this is one to keep around for awhile and enjoy.
