Car history: |
2) I need this car gone! Bought in on eBay a few years ago as a father/son/daughter project. Flash forward a few years and the kids are in college and never come home! Oh well. Its a 350/350 4 spd car, PS, PB with AC. Its had at least one repaint in the original color. I don't know if its the original motor- I think it is. It runs like a high compression V8. It has a newish carb on it and a new manifold (have the original parts in a bag from the last owner), new mufflers (last owner had no mufflers on it sounded like a nascar). Since I've owned it its had a new radiator, new brakes booster and master, and some paint work body work to repair damage from a firetruck hitting it while parked on christmas morning. The car looks worse in person than the photos. It's a 10 footer I'd say. Miles are about 67000- it may be driven a little before the sale. Although I drove it straight from Alabama to DC when I bought it, I'd recommend trailering it home. The stuff I know is broken: Lights aren't lifting- pretty sure this is a vacuum tube that came off with the master was recently fixed, wipers dont work, numerous small paint flaws, Driver's mirror flops around, cracks in the fiberglass around the drivers door handle. Car does have a problem with vapor lock- on a hot day, when the car is hot its hard to start. I had planned to switch it to a simple FI system, but never got to it. (I wound up gassing it while while running to do the 10 hour trip back from alabama). It doesn't (Or I should say hasn't) overheat when running. The top is rough and should be replaced. There is probably stuff I'm leaving out. I just want someone else to get it for a good price and have fun with it. Added stuff: looks like someone tapped the rear fender while I had the car out for inspections today -check the pic above. Feel free to cx your bid if thats a deal breaker. Looked for and couldn't find the block number-sorry Also some videos of the car starting and driving; https://youtu.be/5TI3nOpvBms. Sold for $15,350 on July 11, 2017. 1) 1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible, Numbers Matching with ONLY 68,089 mile. This Stingray has the 350 cubic engine producing 350hp with a M21 four speed transmission. There is no evidence of prior damage or paint work on this Corvette Stingray, it has a custom Fathom Green paint job. This Chevrolet's smooth ride is enhanced by the newly installed Fire Hawk Indy 500 tires. This car will not last long! 68,089 miles. $29,500. October 23, 2012. |
