Car history:
I have been trying to buy this Vette from a local man for over 2 years while it sat getting scratched and dusty and always got the same answer "its not mine to sell" until last week I actually met the owner and was able to make a deal and finally puchase this Vette. This car appears to have been painted with a base/clear paint system and from 5 feet away looks like a show car but like I said it did receive some scratches from its years stored in a shop. It appears that a good color or water sanding job would be all it needs to look great from 5 inches other than of course the few scratches and imperfections. I do not want any confusion here when I say it looks great but it is not perfect or show quality. The interior has survived the years well but also is not show quality or near perfect, as far as I can tell it has had new carpet installed but the rest appears to be the original. It does have a woodgrain steering wheel that matches the factory woodgrain door panels and looks sharp combined. The radio does not work as well "probably" do some of the guages but since I havent driven it very far at all I can't be for sure. The motor is a built 350 but is not a matching #'s block however I was told that the original Muncie transmission is still the one currently in the car now. The motor I was told was built using a Sprint Car motor theme with a lot of low and mid range power but what I know for sure is it sounds like a race car. The man I bought it from had already put a short video on his You Tube account so you may go to youtube and type in 1970 Vette Ebay Helper to see this short video of the car first hand and hear how it sounds for yourself. It has a new set of 17 inch American Racing wheels and tires but if you do not care for that type of wheel. I will install a nice set of Corvette late model wheels and tires in exchange for the A.R wheels and tires. I was told that the reason this car was origianally parked was that the factory exaust was removed and a new set of Vette ceramic headers were install with the plans of putting Vette side pipes on in its place, therefore the car is currently open headers. Also I do know that the complete brake system was replaced less than a 1000 miles ago including rotors , calipers , and lines. I hope that you will watch the video and inspect each and every picture carefully. 80,831 miles. July 7, 2008.
