Car history: |
1969 Corvette Convertible. This is a barn find in Arizona. It has the L-88 Badge on the council which seems to be original. It looks like an original big block L88 car but there is a small block in it. There is over $60,000 invested in it. Our reserve is very low. We had the body taken off the frame and had the frame sand blasted and painted. New suspension and body mounts. Engine is an early 70s 350 CI small block with a 4 bold main. All fresh with a mild cam, honed with new rings, and bearings etc Heads are all done with new valves and seats and seals. The front of the engine was fitted with a ($2,500) B.B. all polished aluminum component system with a single serpentine belt. New Weaind intake. New Edelbrock carb, New retro fitted rack and pinion steering system, 4 speed transmission with new racing clutch, New tires, Custom firewall. Old paint was stripped to the fiberglass. It was primed with 2 stage PPG Urethane primer and shot with PPG Base Coat Clear Coat system. Paint was over $1000. The chrome bumpers are new. New header exhaust system. All new rubber weather strip. New interior, Power windows, power antenna. 4 wheel disc brakes. Power steering. The radiator is a custom Wizard all aluminum radiator. ($1,900). What the car needs: New AC compressor is included in the component system, but needs to be finished. (No AC in car. Needs the custom AC inside car.) The headlight vacuum needs to be replaced and the vacuum wiper door is not functioning at this time. The hard top is all there but needs to be painted. There is no soft top. The car drives great and I would drive just about anywhere in the country. There was no AC with L88 car. Therefore, this car has most probably been modified in the past to get to this point. Original motor unknown. $45,000. February 16, 2013. |
