47936 miles. I dropped the starter today to look at the casting date on the block and it looks like A 18 8 which would be Jan 18, 1968. The heads are dated Jan 9th and the body is Feb 16th, the transmission looks like the original tranny and is dated Jan 25 with a serial # 11542 on the transmission. It all adds up to a mid February car and the original VIN# of the car would be 194378S411542. One could use this information to have a corrected VIN tag made if you desired. Just a thought, but this car is very original as to the numbers and parts. |

Car history: |
Currently has an assigned VIN# so it might have been stolen & recovered. Back then a recovered theft car had its original VIN# removed from the pillar and an assigned number was attached. It has a current title in my name. The VIN# is not readable on the engine. The engine numbers are as follows: Engine block casting # 3916321, head casting 3919840, tri-power intake 3894374, carbs R3660 & R3659. The drive train has a lot of 1967 cast numbered parts. Baldwin Motion Corvette? It is painted the correct colors and it has the slight fender flairs typical of those cars, but I cannot prove its originality. It looks like the engine has never been out of the car. The correct tri-power is on the car along with the correct rectangular port heads and the transistorized ignition. |
