Car history: |
Has up for auction four speed two top 1969 Corvette convertible with only 51,406 documented miles and a 350/350 engine! We found this classic Corvette buried away in a heated building where it was stored for ten years. Its owner became disabled and was no longer able to drive a four speed car. He purchased the car in 1998 with 46,000.00 original miles. The Pennsylvania title documents the low mileage. After clearing off the many years of dust and grime I was pleasantly surprised to find a rust free very solid vehicle with very few issues. Most of the revitalization consisted of installing brand new carpeting, some new wiring, a brand new carb, plugs and other minor engine upgrades and a whole lot of cleaning, waxing and detailing. The body is in very nice driver quality condition. The car underwent a few minor changes like changing the color from Riverside Gold to Monza Red, flaring the fenders a bit and switching out the hood. There are a few very minor road chip only detectable close up. The paint still shines nicely. Also installed many years ago are the working side pipes that give the car a nice roar. The wheels, wheel covers and new tires set her off very nicely. The underside is also very solid and totally rust free. No evidence of any historical accidents. No body filler nor damage repair. Photos of the underside are available upon request. The interior with the exception of the brand new complete carpeting is all original to the car. The seats, dash and gauge package are all excellent. The tach is not operational. Everything else including all the electronics work as they should. That includes the heater with a brand new heater core, the original AM/FM radio, the clock and the headlight flips. The engine and engine bay are nicely detailed. It is not known if the engine block is original to the car. It appears that it is but we cannot document it. The convertible top was replaced when it was stored away and is in excellent condition. The same could be said about its matching hard top. Driving this speed sled is the very best part. She goes fast, straight, shifts smoothly and stops on a dime. The 69 Corvette roadster continues to be a hot collector car that's rising in value. This is a serious car that can be driven anywhere and often while being a head turner at car shows and cruise nights. It's not a perfect car that you would be afraid to take out on to the road but is still a classic that you will enjoy driving and showing for years to come. It's a reasonably priced hot muscle car that will only climb in collector value. It also comes with its original owner's manual and some extra parts. BiN $22,500 but no bid at starting $15,000 on December 31, 2016. |
