Car history:
2) Great looking 1970 Corvette driver. These early chrome bumper C3 Corvettes are getting so hard to find in this condition for a reasonable price. This car runs and drives but needs some light TLC.
Paint:
-Average to below average driver quality, needs lots of little touch ups, cut and polish.
-As you can see from the pictures though, after a simple clean up the car still looks great in its current condition from 5-15 feet away.
-Professional paint restorers could bring this paint up to a really nice driver quality
-I believe it is the correct 1970 year Corvette Monza Red color on the car now. The car was originally Donnybrooke Green though.
Interior:
-Looks to be the original code 424 Light Saddle leather interior.
-The seats were mostly just really dirty and cleaned up pretty well. No obvious rips or tears
-Steering wheel is new
-Some trim pieces need replacing or repairing. I have some of the parts that will come with the car
-Dash has some cracks. A dash pad is on there now.
-Door panels cleaned up nicely
-Power windows work, driver side is very slow though
-Radio works as one would expect for 1970
-Fan works but doesn't blow real hard.
-The A/C seems to working, much to my surprise. Feels coolish, but not super cold
-Both doors close nicely, no sagging.
Structural:
-Frame is solid, no rot, barely any surface rust even. What you would expect from a car that spent its life in sunny dry Arizona
-Body Mounts behind kick panels look good, no rot. (see picture)
Mechanical:
-In 2006, the previous owner replaced the engine with a newer rebuilt 350 ($2,899), had the transmission rebuilt ($1,100), replaced the steering column ($500), and had many other mechanical issues addressed. His total bill was $8,585.46. I have the receipt.
-In 2015, the previous owner had the carburetor tuned, exhaust manifolds replaced, and had the steering box replaced.
-After I acquired the car in May 2017, I mostly have just maintained the car and assembled a small amount of parts for it.
-Brand new steel rally wheels (beauty rings are the old ones and need replacing though)
-Brand new BFG Radials
Mechanicals that should be addressed by new owner (Estimates from Bromleys Corvette Shop):
-Headlights not working. Vacuum kit replacement ($1,559.99) but I was leaning towards electric conversion
-Rear Spring replacement with poly bushings ($279.99)
-Rear Strut rods - adjustable ($534.99)
-Transmission mount ($120)
-Diff, Trans, and Engine oil service (engine oil doesn't look that dirty yet though)
-There is one oil pan bolt missing
It's the left rear spring BOLT/bushing that needs replacement, not the whole spring obviously for that price. BiN $17,900 but reached $10,300 (RnM) on MAy 13, 2018. Sold for $12,100 on May 27, 2018.
1) Motor sufix code is CTG. From 1970corvetteregistry.org (Spotted on Ebay), on July 11, 2010.
