Car history:
2) This is a 1968 Corvette convertible project car I bought last Feb. (I decided I really want restore my dream car which is a 67-69 Camaro instead). No motor or transmission but It was a big block car (396?427?L88?). Tank sticker long gone, but evident by the big block radiator and rear-end (highly sought after 355 gear ratio too!!). Originally a 4 speed tranny. It had been switched to an auto tranny at some point so the cross member had been cut-out but I bought a new one ($400) it just needs to be welded in place. Comes with decent hard top. The last owner began the body-on restoration by rebuilding the front and rear suspensions (new front and rear springs, bushings etc.). I disassembled the car to begin a full ground-up restoration so the body is off the frame and the interior is removed (chassis is still assembled). I have a the parts shown in listing (that I can recall) except for the non-original recessed headlights and the front lower spoiler that I sold to make look more original, also threw away the cheesy bubble rear tail light lenses. The frame is in great shape, no week spots or rot, amazing for 40+ yrs old! The fiberglass body is decent, "bird cage" is nice and solid, no rot evident, windshield glass looks good. It will need a new lower rear tail panel and lower front nose piece (the pc that crosses under the front bumper). It has had many coats of paint over its life so it will need to be sanded down, misc fiberglass repairs etc. The carpet looked fairly new, the seats and dash cusion are near mint. I probably would have redone the door panels and misc interior trim pieces. The rear fenders have been flared (widened). The hood is aftermarket BB hood. Rims are nice but not original. Tires good. Both the frame and the car have been stored inside. 86,745 miles. Colors from the owner. Built date is C19. November 10, 2008
1) HARD TOP ONLY. MOSTLY COMPLETE PROJECT CAR. THIS CAR HAS TONS OF POTENTIAL. NO MOTOR OR TRANSMISSION. LOTS OF WORK ALREADY DONE ON THIS CAR INCLUDING NEW CALIPERS, ROTORS, SHOCKS, FUEL LINES, BRAKE LINES, REAR LEAF SPRING, AND MORE. EXCELLENT FRAME AND WINDSHIELD POSTS. MAY HAVE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION AVAILABLE. 86,527 miles. February 4, 2008.
