Car history:
1980 Chevy Corvette professionally converted into an 82 Collectors Edition Convertible.
I need to start with the fact that I am selling this car for the person I sold it to. I
am the best contact since I am most familiar with her. The only reason I sold the
Vette is due to a job loss and I needed the money. My hopes were to buy the car
back at some point. I am not in a place to do so and the owner needs to sell it.
In fact I would like the opportunity to know if the car ever goes for sale again
after it is sold. Would love to get it back one day. I looked for years to find a car
like this one, with the 82 look as a convertible. There are a lot of vettes conversions
out there and I feel like I have looked at most of them over the years. This is by
far the best I have ever come across. The story as I know it; I was told this is one
of the limited cars (Approximately 200) professionally done by a company out of
Florida. As I understand 80 to 82 Vetttes were converted to convertibles some with
the collector edition scheme. All the parts used were original 68 - 75 Convertible
parts. (I have no confirmation of this but non the less there were no expenses
spared in this conversion).

I originally purchased the car out of Florida in December 2009 and had it shipped
to California. Once I received the Vette I had her inspected for rust or collision
repair. She is rust free including the birdcage. No evidence of being hit or in any
kind of collision just the professional conversion work. The Vette was given a tune
up and fluid changes. For those of you not familiar with California's strict smog
and registration requirements it is almost impossible to have an 80's motor vehicle
pass smog without requiring work to get it to pass. There are no short cuts. This
Corvette still retains it's original fully operational smog equipment. She passed smog
on her first pass through. Amazing feet in itself.

Now for the details. She started life as a 1980 Corvette. Not sure of her original
trim and color. The tag is no longer inside on the door jam area. As she sits today
with just over 65,000 original miles on the odometer (Title shows as true miles to
the vehicle, the Vette is a full option Colector's Edition replica in Convertible trim.
The options include 350 Crossfire motor, AT, PS, PDB, Tilt-Tele, PW, Cruise Control.
Those are the standard options on an 82. Now for the real options. Power Mirrors,
Power Seat and Rear Defog. YES rear defog from a real convertible made to work
off the original 82 defog switch. I actually add this option since I had a collection
of C3 Convertible parts. I added the original rear defog hatch outfited with the tube.
Then the rest of the system was added from a 69 convertible. And yes it is operational.
AND how about this, NOS Factory Shoulder harnesses for a 75 Vette were added.
They also have the correct Shoulder harness panels from a convertible. these are
original panels as the reproduction panels warp. I know because I had a pair. The
only thing I was not able to do is add the correct floor lap belt with retractor on
the drivers power seat. The seat pan does not have the earlier provision for the belt
retractor. The lap belt on the drivers side is an adjustable lap belt that is functional
with the stud added for the shoulder harness just for appearance purposes. The
shoulder harnesses are both in place as they should be. I have the belt and a floor
pan cut out that is included. I was going to have it professionally but welded in to
add the correct belt. The passanger side is correct and operational. All the options
work and function correctly. Even the cruise control. When I added the rear hatch
I had to have it resprayed to match. In doing so I had the whole back section of
the car sprayed. Originally I was only going to have the top portion sprayed down
to the top of the rear bumper but when they went to pull the tape off the sides it
lifted the clear coat so I had to have the sides shot as well up to the back of the
doors not including the doors. I was afraid to blend to the doors in fear of more
clear coat separation. The paint on the rear has a bit more silver in it. Not sure if it
shows in the pictures or not. I am including the original rear hatch that came with
the car. It has provisions for a hard top so I purchased a Vinyl Hardtop for her.
The hard top is not included in the sale but if you want it I will let it go with the sale
for $700.00 extra since the winning bidder bought the Vette. I am also including
an NOS Shift Plate as the one in the Vette has the typical warping by the ashtray.
and a very nice original Radio Bezel since the one in the Vette was cut to accept
the current stereo. The stereo in the Vette is a detachable face remote CD player.
It also has the Auxilary output jack that I use to run my phone through the speakers
while driving. There is a pair of 6x9's that come out easily and no cuts to the original
interior to add speakers. The items that are not working or need a little attention
are, The Vanity Mirror on the pass side is not lighting up but it is wired so it may
be just a bulb or something simple, The rear compartments could use attention. I
would recommend replacing them I just never got around to it. It is just the cosmetics.
They function correctly and are keyed correctly to the doors as they should be.
Just have cracks in the plastic.

The front and rear suspension, bearings and brakes have all been gone through.
Bushings were replaced. New shocks and bushings and the brakes were just done.
Trailing arms were rebuilt with new bearings. Hopefully you can see in the pictures
She sit evenly on all four tires. That in itself is an unusual feet on a C3. Very dry
and clean underside.

The motor runs great and the transmission shifts smoothly. Not sure if it is the
original motor or not so I am not really certain to the miles on it if the longblock is
not original or not. Has the correct hood. Never looked at the numbers. The A/C
was just serviced with a new compressor and blows cold as it should. I also had
the heater core replaced while the A/C service was being done. There are a couple
of small drips when she sits for a while. I believe one from the valve covers and
the other is trans fluid. These are small drips and very common.

This Vette rides and drives beautifully. This is not a perfect Corvette but she is an
excellent representation of a piece of history. She is a wonderful driver and local
show car. Trailer show car. The paint is nice but not perfect. There is an area on
the hood where the paint ran some. The paint is very shinny and looks very nice.
She gets compliments all the time. The interior is original collector edition interior
all the way down to the steering wheel. Very nice interior but not perfect. The dash
has a smal split that was repaired (See picture) The Steering Wheel is nice but has
the normal wear on the top. Seats have no tears or rips just the normal wear. The
engine compartment is presentable in nice condition for a low milage car.

This Corvette is being sold as is and no warranty is expressed or implied.

Please feel free to ask questions. She is available for inspection. I was not able to
list more pictures as it only will let me do 24. If you would like more shots I will be
happy to send them to you. I do not have a lift so the underside may be hard to
take pictures of. I will be more than happy to help get her to a shipper location
within a 20 mile radious of 90630 zip code. The Vette is located in Southern Californial
just south of Los Angeles. Bidding is open to international buyers as long as shipping
is arranged by buyer. I know there is a couple international shippers in the area.

On Aug-09-12 at 18:45:33 PDT, seller added the following information:
Question regarding the seat belts and Convertible Top.

The Convertible Soft Top is in good shape. Some wear showing but completely
operational. The top is the Collector Edition Color. It is not Black but a very very
dark Brown almost appearing Black. A lot of thought was taken when choosing the
top color. It is well coordinated with the color scheme of the collectors edition.

The seat belts can be swapped out for the one piece belts used on the 82 collectors
edition. They would mount in the same places and have the retractor in back
where the shoulder retractor is. This would make it to where no change to the
floor would be needed to make the drivers side work under the Power Seat. Also
the NOS Belts used in the car currently are worth more and could be sold.
Personally I prefer the nostalgia of the 68-75 shoulder harness set up with the lap belts.
