| 1969 Le Mans Blue Coupe. I've owned this Corvette since 1997. 390 hp, 427, 4-spd. It is a CE block which according to my reserach is a Counter Exchange, which I understand means it was warranty replacement block. Motor runs strong and clean to redline. Transmission shifts as it should. I decided last year that b/c it needed paint, I was going to slightly modify it. Paint (Le Mans Blue) is less than 1 yr old and although not show quality is very solid. It has been flared with L88 flares from Mid America, but they are not glassed in. Instead I went period and had them screwed on with small button allen head screws. I'm not a fan of the '70's custom Corvettes and this is no '70s custom Vette. It now looks like an old A Production race car. It has been tastefully modified and can be brought back to stock appearance relatively easily. Also, the back panel and hood are painted a semi gloss black. In order to fill the wheel wells, I found a like new set of 15 x 8.5 inch (Front), 15 x 10 inch (Rear) Torq Thrust Wheels. New tires less than 500 miles. Hooker Headers with new sidepipes and spiral tech mufflers. New offset trailing arms, relatively new VB street suspension and O-Ring Calipers. Brand new gas tank and fuel lines. MSD box, Pertronix electronic ignition. Stainless steel flexible brake lines to calipers. Seats are from a 1979 Corvette (way more comfortable and supportive than originals). Has a smaller diameter steering wheel. Original seats and steering wheel are long gone. While the purists may cringe, this car is a fun car to drive, has a great look and gets lots of compliments at stop lights and at the Sunday morning Cars & Coffee.
