Just VA inspected this week after having $3500 in engine, brakes, bearings and other items attended to by Caseys Automotive in Chantilly and more so by Circle Auto in Fairfax (who are Corvette experts). PIECE OF MIND!!! You are not going to find many C3 vettes, if ANY, that have fresh VA inspections, are rust free, and in just overall very good condition. Since the engine #'s are not matching is the only thing keeping this car from being worth more. I am the 3rd owner. Titled and tagged in Virginia. Just over 87,000 miles with some receipts dating back to mid-80s. Engine has about 6,000 miles on it. Very straight and rust free body. Green with Saddle interior. Chrome in decent shape on front and back (only on 68-72 models), small bump on nose that pic may not show. Interior very clean, no tears in the leather seats, one small tear about an inch in driver door. Original glass, with some superficial scratches in windshield and a little more noticeable on driver side window. Not enought to keep car from passing strict VA inspection. T-Tops work and don't leak. Car was outside in T-Storms last week and did fine. Back window pops in and out without problem, and doesn't leak. Repainted 12 years ago, has a nice gloss with only a few nicks and slight imperfections. I have pics of engine replacement process. Headlights pop up and down and all lights/highbeams work as well as internal "Bright" light. Originally had and has switch for factory air, however there is no compressor and nothing is hooked up for it, but could be completed for a grand or so (who needs it!). Period correct 350 engine, but numbers are not matching. Engine compartment in great shape. Newer exhaust sounds great...no smoke! Original trans was rebuilt. Shifts w/out effort and goes into reverse easily. Shocks/struts in great shape. Original rims in great shape. All rubber in very good condition. Newer tires. Chrome just replaced in doors and rear license plate frame. Windshield wipers work effortlessly, the lid covering them pops up and down. I was just in a thunderstorm last week and not only did it not leak, but I could see! Many of the fiber optic lights inside even work! After market radio works fine. Virginia Inspection passed on 6-11-08 with 87108 miles. Inspections include: Brakes, headlights, signals, other lights, steering, suspension, exhaust system, fuel system, tires, hood latch, emission control, windshield, windshield wipers, other glass, mirror, doors, seats, seat belts, floor pan, defroster, and horn!!!! 87,115 miles.
