1974 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible
VIN: 1Z67J4S436160 6,500 Actual Miles - NCRS Top Flight award in 2014
74L Medium Red Metallic with 425 Dark Red Interior

The 1974 Corvette transitioned to all soft bumpers with the new body-color rear bumper. The
urethane plastic skin had built-in recesses for the license plate and taillights, and a vertical center
seam divided the two main sections. This split bumper is unique to 1974 as later years were one-
piece without the seam). The skin covered an aluminum impact bar mounted on two telescopic
brackets. This was the last Corvette model without catalytic converters. It was the last Corvette
of the era with true dual exhausts. Resonators were added to the exhaust system. Exhaust
tailpipes exited below the bumper. Fuel requirement was 91-octane leaded or low lead. Radiators
were redesigned for more efficient cooling at low speeds. Shoulder belts remained optional with
convertibles and if so equipped were separate from the lap belt as before. Also, the belt locking
mechanism was changed from a pull-rate type to a swinging weight type activated by the car's
deceleration. The alarm activation switch was moved from the rear panel to the driver-side
fender. Magnets were added to power steering units to attract fluid debris. The stock inside
rearview mirror increased in approximate width from eight to ten inches. Chevrolet only builds
5,474 Corvette convertibles in 1974.

Zora Arkus-Duntov resigned from GM in 1975 and Dave McLellan took over Corvette. Duntov
bought his company 1974 Corvette from GM when he left. He later sold the Corvette for over
$100,000.00.

This particular car is equipped with A31 Power Windows, C07 Auxiliary Hardtop, C60 Air Conditioning,
J50 Power Brakes, L48 350ci Engine, M40 Turbo Hydra-Matic Transmission, N37 Tilt Telescopic
Steering Column, N41 power Steering, U58 Delco AM/FM Radio, Stereo, 8x15 Rally Wheels, and 215/75
White Lettered Radials. The Corvette has most all factory correct components including the jack,
seat belts, washer system, shifter, ignition shielding, and original paperwork to include the
window sticker, warranty book, new car delivery checklist, NCRS Top Flight Award with Blue
Ribbon, and owner's manual.

The Corvette is in original condition with 6,500 actual miles on the matching number drive train.
One family owned until 2013. The Corvette retains all of its original body panels with no damage.
The original paint presents well. The tinted glass is in excellent condition. The interior is all
original and presents very well, to include the dash pad, carpet, instruments, switches, and door
panels. The engine compartment is original and clean. The underside is very clean and presents
very well.
The new car sales date was October 2, 1974 by the original delivery dealer Dan Young Chevrolet
of Indianapolis, Indiana (dealer code 465 in zone 25) per the original Chevrolet Motor Division
widow sticker that is included with the Corvette. This is an outstanding opportunity to acquire a
Corvette convertible with 6,500 actual miles in a rare color combination. This original convertible
is NCRS Certified Top Flight, nicely equipped and beautifully presented.
