I bought this serial no. 194378S412783 in Adelaide Sth Australia in 1986. It was advertised at the time as a 350 small block , previously converted to Right Hand Drive. After a slight tap on the rear had to pull the tank ( 1986) girlfriend was driving. . A local Corvette enthusiast (Steve Kranz) saw my car and asked if he could check it out at the crash repair shop. He found the Original Tank Sticker all over the shop floor like confetti. He swept up the whole shop on a friday afternoon (after asking permission from the shop owner) and ended up putting together the Original Tank Sticker. He came back to my work ( i was 21 years old ) and said you have a very rare Corvette. I had no idea that the the 1969 350/ 300 hp fitted was not Original. But he did !! Serial no 194378S412783 was an L89. 435hp L71/L89 Alum. Cyl Head. M21 , 3.70 F41 , 6500 rpm redline , single fuel line , etc. Sold new at Allen Gwynn Chevrolet Glendale California. The Original engines fate and Owner are a mystery. NDLR: owner claims the original engine was is a 435hp, but this is likely a false claim. September 6, 2020.
