2) For sale is my 1968 Corvette 427, 390hp with automatic transmission in its original color of LeMans Blue with black interior. Options include power steering and power brakes. This is a non air conditioned car. The corvette has one high quality repaint. I've found only one or two small touch ups. The paint is very slick and well done. The interior appears to be all original with the exception of the carpet. I believe the radio has been replaced. The passenger seat has some minor splitting at seams and the drivers door panel has a small area that has been patched but overall the interior is in excellent condition. All interior gauges, lights and fiber optics work correctly. Even the original clock works! Headlights and windshield wiper door operate properly. The underside and frame are in great shape as the Corvette is originally a Tennessee car. The 427 engine is believed to be original. It was decked by the previous owner so I can only see some of the numbers on the pad. However, all castings are correct and the original manifolds are still installed. Personally, I have no doubt the engine is original. The previous owner installed a newer Holley carb. Mileage shown is approximately 75,000 but I can't confirm if this is actual. The Corvette is a blast to drive. The only reason for selling is that I no longer have space to store it. It's a clean and honest big block Corvette that will get you attention wherever you drive it. The LeMans blue paint, black interior and red line tires are a great look! $23,000 (RnM) on December 29, 2017. Sold for $30,000 on January 1, 2018. 1) This is a beautiful 1968 Corvette Coupe with its original 427 big block motor, factory rated at 390 horsepower. It was repainted in its original color code 976 Lemans Blue. The original motor and entire drivetrain was completely rebuilt. The car runs as new and runs nice and cool. Gauges and fiber optics all work. The car still has its original, unrestored interior in excellent condition. It is equipped with power steering, power brakes, factory headrest seats (optional in 68), automatic Turbo 400 transmission, 3:08 positraction rear end, Dewitt's aluminum big block radiator, redline radial tires. I have the NCRS shipping data on the car. It was delivered new to Shappard Chevrolet in Tullahoma Tennessee. The car is absolutely rust free and has the cleanest frame I have ever seen on an unrestored classic Corvette. I am reducing the number of Corvettes in my small collection. I have been proud to own this Corvette for the last 10 years. This car has been meticulously maintained in my climate controlled garage. To my knowledge it has never been driven in any kind of weather. The factory chalk marks are still obvious on the firewall as applied by the assembly workers in St Louis. This car will exceed anybody's expectations both aesthetically and mechanically. I have been a Corvette guy for 45 years and all of my cars are maintained in an obsessive manner. I have just made the difficult decision to reduce the number of Corvettes I own. All maintenance records included. Clean title in hand. Sold for $29,000 on August 8, 2016. |
