| Car history: |
What I have here for sale is an amazing time capsule from 1971. This is a partially completed frame off restoration of a 13,827 mile car; it was damaged by a tractor in 1972, as the legend goes. The poor car spent the next thirty-five years traveling between garages in Wyoming. The good news it was a dry climate which preserved the integrity of the automobile but none of the subsequent Owners ever completed the task of repairing the car. In fact all that occured was a long drawn out disassembly with the loss of some minor parts; like the alternator, air cleaner, seats and the entire front end.
I rescued the car and determined it was a number matching 454, 4-spd. with power steering and power brakes, stereo AM/FM radio combined with a tilt wheel and the deluxe saddle tan leather interior. The engine, transmission, rear axle are all original and have been confirmed to be complimentary to the stated mileage of the car. The majority of all frame markings were still visible which allowed for a very accurate restoration of the frame and drivetrain. To be accurate the block, heads, intake, water pump, distributor, carburetor, water pump, starter, transmission, differential and exhaust manifolds are correct part numbers and date codes (the block and transmission have the vin stamped as well). The suspension parts are original with all parts have been refinished to correct factory standards. In fact the majority of the original fasteners were refinished instead of replacing the originals. The engine has been professionally rebuilt and has been tested on a Dyno. All of the original stampings have been preserved.
Please review all of the pictures and feel free to call with any questions regarding this automobile. I have assembled the missing pieces with the exception of the seats. All of the chrome has been replated along with the stainless steel trim polished to a show car standard. I purchased a complete 71' front end to complete the body restoration. Again, feel free to call with any questions; 970.396.1587.
Also, don't feel sorry for the poor car; if it does not sell I will continue the restoration to completion. I just have three restorations going at one time so it seems a bit illogical at times.
