Car history:
The daring new Mako Shark-inspired Vette was just a year old at the time and still about the hottest hunk of American iron (and fiberglass) on the street. GM's big-block V-8 had grown from 396 cubic inches to 427 back in '66, garnering the affectionate nickname "Rat Motor." It was available in several states of tune, but the coolest of the cool for '69 (aside from the nearly unobtainable L88) had to be the L71, rated at 435 gross horsepower and packing three-count 'em, three-two-barrel carburetors. Rare piece of American history that you can own. She is a “date coded” number matching car. This car is absolutely flawless, she is in “show-quality” condition! The current owner had her appraised 3 years ago (I will be adding the picture of the appraisal when he puts his hands on it), she appraised at $175K, the owner is willing to sell her for tens of thousands of dollars less than the appraised value. The odometer shows 1,232 miles, the original was replaced it showed 70K miles. This car has less than 75K miles on her chassis. This car is only 1 of 390 with the 427 CI 435 HP with 3 deuces. And even more rare is only 1 of 250 to have the 400 Turbo transmission! When this car was ordered from the dealership the a/c was not ordered, when it arrived at the dealership they installed the a/c to factory specs. The owner did a complete frame-off restoration 7 years ago; she has been meticulously maintained and stored in a climate-controlled garage. The tri-deuce power carbs are factory original and rebuilt. She has the “factory original” aluminum heads (date coded), the heads have been ported and polished. The big block “factory original” L-89 427 “rat motor” (date coded) has been “blue-printed” rebuilt and bored 30 over, when Top Speed Performance rebuilt her they installed roller rockers, roller cam and lifters, this car was dynoed by Mikey Allen Dynos at 550hp! The 400 Turbo-hydromatic transmission is “factory original” (date coded) has been completely rebuilt is connected to a GM posi-trac 3.73 gear ratio rear end (date coded). The exhaust manifolds (date coded) are “factory original”, the owner had them ceramic coated along with the entire exhaust system, it will never rust. The exhaust side pipes are “factory original” as well and in perfect condition. New 4-wheel disc brakes that is also a “factory original” item for this car. Every part of this car has been restored to a “factory original” condition, the owner has even gone as far as to have the am/fm stereo and speakers reworked to original condition. The horn has been done as well. The black leather seats are original never been restored, looks like it did in ’69. A new “surround” has been installed along with new Jim Summershine front fenders. Any one that knows Vettes know how the front fenders over time will crack around the wheel area. These fenders even have the “dimples” that connect the fenders to the surround, and the underneath of the fenders is as smooth as glass. The owner states that this was the last year of the black paint. The black paint is by Dupont’s single stage acrylic urethane paint and is show quality not a blemish; Dan Kelley who paints all of Bobby Alloway’s cars professionally painted her. All the seams for the doors, hood and trunk are perfectly aligned. New seals and molding throughout. “Factory original” “T-Tops” are in perfect shape. Rebuilt tilt/telescoping steering. The tires are new and the “top hats” are original with new beauty rings. There is no rust anywhere, this car has been in the Southeast all of her life, the current owner is only the second person to have it titled. This whole car is “factory original” and “date coded” except for the above-mentioned items! 1,232 miles. Colors from the trim plate. Built date is G18 from the owner. July 24, 2008.
