| It is the last year of the chrome bumper vettes. T-tops and a removable rear window make it almost as open as a convertible, but gives the car more stability and stiffness. In 2004 a frame off restoration was completed. The original 350 ci engine was rebuilt in 2003 and goes with the car, making everything numbers matching. The body and paint is in good shape. The passenger side headlight assembly was replaced in 2007 and needs to be painted as you can see in the pics. There is also a small chip in one t-top and a small scratch in the other. I do drive the car, so normal wear is expected. I have put approx 2000 miles on the car since 2004. What makes this car so special is the engine. It is a 1968 HO 427ci 435hp with a 1968 3x2 intake manifold. The 3 holley carbs are also 1968 originals. They were sent to Holley in 2004 to be completely rebuilt. In 2007 the 427 had a top end rebuild. The heads were shaved .010, new larger heavy duty intake and exhaust valves, new sleves and guides, Comp cams hydraulic roller cam, roller rocker arms, pushrods, valve springs, timing gears and chain, etc..I have the receipts. I also put in an aluminum radiator to keep things cool. The car runs and sounds awesome. New chrome alternator, aluminum water pump, power steering pump w/remote reservoir, msd ignition system.
