Car history:
3) This is a #s matching car with protect-o-plate, tank sticker and car shipper sheet. Documentation shows the car exactly as you see it- a red 435 hp with tri-power, aluminum heads, side pipes and much more. These colors and options make this one of the most desirable 1969 Corvettes in existence. Very well cared for original car with mostly original paint! Only 167 L-89 roadsters were made, less then 10 per cent had side pipes. I am sure this is a 1 of 1 optioned like this. What makes it even more special is that it's a late built car, October-1969. It has ultra rare heads, same ones used on the ZL-1. The car was sold new at Allan Green Chevy in Seattle. It lived with the same owner in California from 1983 until 2013. Has only 75,314 actual miles. Claimed to have 75 of its original paint and it still shows great. Has a bright glossy finish. All of the chrome and trim is bright including bumpers, side exhaust covers, emblems. Wheels are restored, reproduction red line tires. Interior is mint. The leather seats are glove soft. Door panels, console, dash area is mint. White top is very good. Engine compartment is factory correct. Underside is original, clean and proper. This is a serious collector car. It has everything going for it- docs, rarity and desirability off the charts! The owner has all of a sudden become very motivated. Price has been reduced $36,000! Side pipes Tri-power carbs Aluminum heads Red line tires Power 4 wheel disc Power steering Leather Removable hardtop 3.55 posi F-41 suspension Fender louver trim Transistor ignition Tank sticker Protect-o-plate Car shipper copy. 75,314 miles from the odometer. BiN $133,998 (Ended) on May 14, 2018.
2) The car sounds way better in person the video sound quality is poor. Out of a private collection rarest of the rare documented with protecto plate, order copy! 1969 Corvette 427 435 horse convertible L89 Aluminum heads factory side pipe car 1 of 390 built. 1969 is the only year that a Corvette could be ordered with side pipes. They could be dealer installed other years but not ordered from the factory. Only 10 per cent of the cars ordered in 1969 had the side pipe option.
Sold at Alan Green Chevrolet in Seattle Washington. Alan Green was known like Yenko for their race car dealerships. His dealership sponsored the Cheetah race car in the 60's and their 1968 Camaro race car. Get yours now before it goes crazy like the L88's!!!
This car has all the right rare options. I see these climbing like crazy in the past 6 months check out Hagerty valuation. I am not sure of the break down of how many convertibles. I heard about 30 per cent were convertibles. Taking the options and colors in consideration I would say maybe 1 of 10 if that. But how many are actually left is the question? This is a unrestored 75000 original mile car. The car spent its whole life in Los Angeles area very clean underneath and dry no rust.
I was told some of the original paint is still on the car approximately 75 per cent of it. Whoever did the paint did a great job blending and preserving the original paint. It looks to be clear coated with lacquer clear like original. There are a few areas that are showing its age on top of the front fenders and by the door handle area. The car is not perfect but an exceptional condition for its age. This was a late build car it took delivery on 11-11-69. The late cars had the better aluminum heads open chamber. They had more power than the early ones I was told from a good source. I seen these car selling for 190,000 to 260,000 in good to restored condition. I drove this car only a few times. It's extremely fast and tight, steering, shifting it's just one of those cars that feel right. Matching numbers block casting numbers are 3963512 late 1969.
Options are as follows:
2a01ba soft ray tinted glass
2c07aa auxillary hard top

No bid at starting $145,000 on March 21, 2017. BiN $189,000 (Ended) on May 1, 2017. Sold for $98,099 on July 28, 2017.
1) This very rare numbers matching L89 Corvette Stingray Convertible features a 427/435 HP V8 3x2 2 bbl Tri-Power 4 speed with both tops (Hard and Soft). It is features a Monza Red exterior with Black vinyl interior. The L89 engine is the L71 engine with Aluminum Cylinder heads. There were approx. 39,000 total Corvettes build that year with 16,663 convertibles and ONLY 390 L89 made. This fine example has been restored at some point and the odometer currently reads 75,165. The car is in great condition, mechanically sound with no problems found. Motor pad ending with 114LP. 75,165 miles from the odometer. Color codes from the trim plate. Assembly date is P21. $138,900.
