| This listing is for a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible with a completely rebuilt body and engine. The engine is an L79 original Corvette engine, originally a 327 cu in 350 HP engine. The engine was rebuilt and has somewhere close to 400 HP but I am not sure what it was bored out to. Most of the elements of the engine were upgraded as well and the new engine has only 4,300 miles on it!! The Corvette comes with both soft top and a very nice leather hard top which alone is worth around $1,500-$2,000. It comes with an aftermarket accel distributor, as well as a factory original distributor that has never been used. Power steering was also installed. The wheels are 10" wide steel ones that have been chromed but the chrome is pitting so they are not perfect. The tires are very rare Cordovan Super Wide GT which are have about 90% tread left on the front. The body was completely rebuilt with an Ecklers wide body kit which looks amazing!! I have spoken to Ecklers about the kit and they told me these kits used to be very popular back in the 70's but production stopped and now they are trying to recreate the molds to start production. Eclers used to take brand new Corvettes, rebuild the body with one of these kits and resell the car for triple. $18,999. April 3, 2012. |
