| It originally was safari yellow with a black soft top and interior and was repainted red many years ago. After purchasing the car 18 months ago we stripped the old faded red paint and disasembled the car to do a body off restoration on the car. In the meantime 3 other vette projects were acquired and this one was cast aside. Stripping the paint revealed a one piece front end and a repair on the right rear, as well as damage on the lower rear valance. It needs some body work as well as some components. It came with a 1980 hood and is missing the engine, tranny,bumper, radiator, and miscellaneous parts. With the purchase there is a set of heads, exhaust manifolds, starter, shifter,coil, valve covers, voltage regulator which are not numbers correct for the car. The set of ralley wheels that came with the car are also included. The tank sticker was in real rough shape but I got some information from it and I have the original gas tank. It was a 350 HP 4-speed 327 low option car. The optional hardtop was never mentioned to me by the previous owner. My guess is they didn't know it came with one.I have restored the seat tracks and seat covers spending $800 and have purchased a few miscellaneous parts the last year. December 31, 2007. |
