Posted 06/15/2018 Lot #3000 - This 1971 Corvette Sting Ray is in excellent condition and is powered by a 454/365hp big-block engine mated to an automatic transmission. It is finished in War Bonnet Yellow with the taller L88 hood scoop, chrome side pipes and a black leather interior. This 1971 Corvette Sting Ray has been a part of the Klingberg Auto Restoration Program, a vocational elective in the Klingberg Family Centers Special Education School. The 110 students enrolled have been victims of trauma in its various forms, experiencing severe family problems or mental health issues, or have learning disabilities. The Corvette was donated to the Restoration Program several years ago and the students have enjoyed learning about it, maintaining it and completing some minor repairs. Friend and supporter of the Klingberg Restoration Program, Wayne Carini, has taken it to his shop and brought it to good running order with the support of another supporter, Stanley Black & Decker. All proceeds from the sale of the Corvette will go directly to the funding of the Klingberg Auto Restoration Program. |
