2) Exotic Classics is proud to present this brilliant 1969 Corvette that was specially ordered, prepared and delivered by Berger Chevrolet of Grand Rapids, Michigan, a legend among Chevy performance car fans due to its long and ongoing history, as well as the hot reputation it built at the peak of the American Musclecar era, the late 1960s. You have to remember that back in 1963, GM management had issued an edict barring its divisions from racing. It was still effective in 1968 and Chevrolet developed a system of identifying its factory go-fast hardware by obscure listings in parts books. In effect, Chevy and other divisions hid their involvement in the performance market in plain view. Any dealer could order any part Chevy offered, but many parts people didnt know how to order what their customers who raced needed. Berger had become on of Chevrolets leading dealers and were actively involved in competition. Bergerspeople cracked the secret codes a parts specialist needed to understand how to order special hi-performance factory parts. Then they created a catalog that listed the parts and advertised his catalog in trade and enthusiast publications.Featured in Fathom Green with a Dark Green interior, our Corvette is a superb matching numbers car that still wears its Berger Chevrolet nameplate. Photos of the original documents are in our presentation and show special purpose suspension, special rear end, and 400HP upgrade as factory installed options. Additional options include power steering, AM/FM radio, and special wheel covers. Berger was very famous for their Camaros and the firm is still active in producing Berger Camaros today. This Corvette is reportedly one of two ordered by Berger with this specification. It is a delightful car that you can drive or show with pride. BiN $79,900. July 9, 2015. 1) Discussion about the 6,000 redline on teh tachmeter: i did not sell it. it is a true car - undisputed # matching. the best have tried to tear it apart - especially because it is a berger. In fact, the ncrs sent down one of their experts to look at the car and he believes it is a true berger also, this car was the subject in super car registry and one of the retired executives from berger wrote me an email telling me that he believes that this is a true berger. December 27, 2009. THIS IS A 1969 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE AUTO TRANS TRI-POWER CAR. WHITE CONVERTIBLE TOP. ALSO HAS ORIGINAL VINYL HARD TOP. IT HAS A NUMBERS MATCHING BIG BLOCK AND IS ONLY ONE OF TWO, I AM TOLD, THAT WAS BUILT BY BERGER CHEVROLET IN GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN. BERGER CHEVROLET GOT ITS FAME BY MODIFYING CAMAROS, JUST LIKE THE MORE WELL KNOWN YENKO. THIS CAR ALSO WENT THROUGH THEIR SHOP AND THEY DID THEIR MODIFICATIONS TO WHAT I AM TOLD WENT FROM 400HP TO 450 HP. THIS IS A VERY RARE PIECE AND IS PART OF CORVETTE HISTORY. THE INTERIOR & PAINT ARE CODE CORRECT & HAS NEW CARPET & SEAT COVERS I HAVE THE ORIGINAL REDLINE GLASS BELTED TIRES. THE BUYER WOULD HAVE HIS CHOICE OF THE ORIGINAL REDLINES OR REDLINE RADIAL TIRES. THIS CAR RUNS VERY STRONG AND IS VERY FAST. THE CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH POWER WINDOWS, POWER BREAKS, POWER STEERING, TILT AND TELESCOPING STEERING WHEEL, HEAD RESTS. ALL GAUGES, FIBER OPTICS AND CLOCK WORK. I HAVE TANK & WINDOW STICKER PLEASE. Colors from tank sticker. Built date is C10. March 24, 2008. |
