| L71 - 427/435hp, Riverside Gold, Black Interior, M21 4-Speed Manual, Recent Frame Off, Matching #'S, Side Exhaust, Power Steering, Fender Louver Trim, AM/FM Radio, Teak Wheel, New Radiator. King of the Sharks!! That's what most Corvette people think of the '69's. The so called sins of the '68 were rectified in '69. Though it's hard to tell the difference between the two years at first glance, there are some significant one's. The first thing that you notice is the Stingray script across the front fenders, now one word after being on hiatus for one year. Some other changes included changing the door opening mechanism to a more user friendly unit, the wheels and tires were wider, the small block displacement was increased to 350ci, the interior was roomier due to thinner door panels, the ignition switch was relocated to the steering column for the first time with an integrated locking feature and for one year only, you could order the sleek optional side exhaust! This was also the last year for the mighty 4-2-7! The following year it would increase in size (but not horsepower) to 4-5-4 ci. This outstanding example has benefitted from a recent frame off restoration and features a matching #'s 435hp Tri-Power 427, M-21 4-spd transmission, the aforementioned side exhaust, power steering, fender louver trim, am/fm radio and a beautiful Teak wheel to finish off the interior (original can be swapped out). The car runs and drives like the beast that it is, but cool because of a new radiator. 56,408 miles from the odometer. March 20, 2015. |
