| This 1969 Corvette was a special order car the original tank sticker says it was built to be an export car, it also stated trim and paint overide. The original colors this car was ordered in was not an available color in 1969, Blue outside with a red interior probably the only one built in that color combo, another oddity of this Corvette is it was built with a base 3 speed stick only 250 cars came with that trans. James Hurt has a website for history and photos of export cars. He was saying there was some 3 speed Corvettes exported to Vietnam since that’s what they allowed. I believe it possibly could have been built for some one in the service but I do not believe it ever made it there. According to the tank sticker it was to be shipped to zone 79 that’s a place in Jersey where exports were ordered from before being sent out. The bottom of the tank sticker states send to Portland Oregon. I have no history on the car from 1969 to 1974. In 1974, The car ended up in Dekalb Illinois. The person I purchased the car from bought it in 1976 and didn’t drive it much and in 1988 he parked it and didn’t drive it again until I bought it last year. When I bought the car it was blue but had a black diamond tucked interior. I have since put it back to its original red interior. The guy I bought it from had it repainted in about 1982 it looks to be a very original body that’s never been in a accident. The original spare tire is still there. The odometer reads 45,000 miles and I believe that to be true. This is a original drive train car with minor mods done, headers, M/T valve covers and a flex fan. I do not have the original exhaust manifolds or smog setup. I have done brakes all the way around, dropped the fuel tank and cleaned it out it wasn’t dirty at all. That’s when I found the tank sticker. I also did a complete tune up and put the interior back to stock. It definetly is a one of one car. Color codes from the trim plate. Built date is C19.
