| Car history: |
My father asked me to listed his very nice Corvette for him today. Unfortunately he is regrettably doing so due to his disability. My father spend a lot of time and money on this car and will due my best to convey that to everyone and also explain some of the best and unique things this Corvette has. To begin I can talk about the history of the car. It has had three owners and first being a Military Col. that took delivery of the car in Oregon then brought her back to California. He did this because he wanted a L-82 which was no longer available in California due to emissions. The L-82 was an optional engine at the time that included a stronger fortified block assembly consisting of Forged Pistons, Forged Connect Rods, Forged Crank along with other enchantments like a aluminum intake manifold to name a few. The next long time owner before my father was a Firefighter who made some improvements on the car that really make a big difference which I will talk about next. In order to improve upon the already strong platform and also to lighten the cars heavy curb weight a forged billet head from Airflow Research was installed. This along with the slightly more aggressive cam added and freed 100 HP alone. This head eliminates the very poorly designed stock cast iron head and it looks like nothing was ever done! A dynamometer was used to tune the whole emissions friendly setup that produced 278HP at the rear wheels. The car has a dual exhaust system with a twin high flow cats using the stock exhaust manifold. A complete brand new in the box long tube header with all the emissions legal AIR fittings will be included,. This header is also ceramic coated in and out and is show ready. Once installed it should add much more hidden power to the car. The transmission also was rebuilt to a high standard and shifts very nicely! The car also has brand new tires with 100 miles on them! We also recently install a complete front vette brake stainless steel piston rebuild with life time warranty.
Some other info on the car. It has had a long life with Moble 1 with records. A very meticulous and well documented maintenance and service log comes with the car outlining many services with the exact mileage increments. Everything works even the AC but at times it does intermediately stop working and blows warm air, its been this way for many years. The 8 track radio does work and has some very famous classic rock band tapes in the dash holder. Now about some issues we know. The windows roll up but needs a bit of adjustment. The left rear has damage the size of a quarter from an object falling. There is some oil leaking which can be seen with a little oil droplet on the oil pan. Not sure exactly from where though haven't had it checked. Some other neat stuff we have with the car is the original window sticker, books and docs with the new car. We also have a original Corvette service manual! Also, the paint work on this car is not a low level type job. It was a very professional better then new job done by my Fathers Cousin less then two years ago. The seats on the car are also full leather and not vinyl / leather type. |
