This is a True Blue (actually Green) 1971 Corvette LT-1 Coupe w/ correct Numbers Matching Drive train. Correct Brands Hatch Green paint with Saddle Interior. This was a factory Hot Rod, so there are No power windows, No A/C, No tilt, etc. It does have power steering, but that is about it for luxury options. This car had a COMPLETE Frame-On Restoration in 2005 - 2007, two year project by myself and several very reputable restoration experts. This car is the real deal, and was done right. I built it to keep and drive, NOT just to resell, so Everything is done correctly. This car has 100% original fiberglass, NO replacement panels, the car was never wrecked, which is VERY RARE for these older cars. The paint and body man was AMAZED to see such a perfect body on an early Vette. In any event, the car got a $8,500 paint job, second to none, car was completely dis assembled and each part painted separately. Brakes are 100% new SS calipers, new rotors, new E-brake cables, new master Cyl, new brake lines, etc. Trans is original M21 Numbers matching, w/ code of P1E28B , new seals installed, driveshaft was rebalanced to 1/2 Gram, all new U-joints, all new suspension bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints, idler arm, pitman arm, etc.. New GM H.D. shocks, new Vacuum lines and canisters rebuilt, power steering parts are new also. Original 3.73 Rear end Serviced w/ new seals. Interior is all original with exception of new seat foam cushions, new seat covers, and new carpet w/ new sound barrier/heat barrier matting. New Complete Rubber seals throughout. New Exhaust with Hooker Super Comp Ceramic Coated Headers and 2.5" Alluminized pipes w/ FlowMaster mufflers and SS exhaust tips (correct factory style). I do have original exhaust manifolds and pipes, as well as original AIR pump. Car also has all original Glass in place, which is in excellent condition with only one small pea size ding in windshield on Pass side. Wheels are original Rallys w/ original center caps and SS trim rings. Tires are new BF Goodrich TAs 235/60/R15. This car looks and drives incredible !!
The original numbers matching motor ( V0501CGZ Block, 3973487 Heads, D 22 1 and D 23 1, 3959594 Intake) was disassembled, with intent to re-ring and freshen up, but the machine shop I use is very meticulate, so they convinced me to go + .030 overbore and Balance & Blueprint the complete assembly. This was done, using all original parts except for new TRW forged pistons (short dome for 9.8 : 1 Compression), new Ultradyne Solid LT-1 Cam and Lifters, new bearings, etc. Original Pink rods were resized and trued up, original 1182 steel crank was polished (remains Std). Heads were reworked with new springs, SS Valves, seals, valve job w/ hard seats installed for unleaded fuel, etc. Motor was balanced to within 1/10 gram, and broke in and Tuned on Dyno. The motor makes 408 HP now on 93 octane. (this is one advantage of the 71 motor to the 70 motor, as the 70 model motor with 11:1 compression requires 100 octane gas).
Feel free to ask any questions, serious inquiries only please. I can help with delivery to lower 48 U.S. I would recommend flying to Houston to look and drive so you can really appreciate this car. This is my Baby, and I will not take any less than $39,000 CASH, so don't bother to make insulting offers PLEASE. Thanks for looking !! |
