Car history:
For sale is my 1968 Corvette convertible. I've owned and driven this car on
summer weekends for the last 5 years. I've only put around 5K on it since I've
owned it. It has a date correct 327/300 with a 4 speed manual transmission.
Motor is rebuilt with a 327/350 cam, 2.02 heads (double hump) with ram horn
stock chevy exhaust manifolds, Edelbrock performer manifold, Edelbrock 625 cfm
carb, and an HEI electronic ignition. Full exhaust was also replaced when I first
bought it. Transmission has been rebuilt with a new clutch, pressure plate, and
throwout bearing. There is around 10k-15k on rebuild. Car was a southern car
before being brought to New York about 15 years ago. I bought it from my friend
5 years ago and frame is solid without rust.. It has an older restoration on it. Car
is an original Corvette Bronze exterior (paint code #992) and Dark Orange Vinyl
interior (trim code #425) car. Paint is still really nice but it does have a chip here
and there (very few), and there is an imperfection below the surface the paint on
two spots on the tops of the fenders. Paint looks great from 5 feet, and was wet
sanded and polished so it has no orange peel. The car sits perfectly, unlike some
of the others on Ebay that sit way too high in the rear. Bumpers are re-chromed
originals and are in very good shape. Interior is new. Interior seat covers, door
panels, door sills, and full carpet and storage doors are new. This was done by
Barton's interiors in Long Island when I first bought it. Also, the black convertible
top is brand new from Barton's. I'm over 6 feet tall and I've only put the top up
twice in 5 years (I do leave the top closed during the winter in my garage), that's
how new it is. Car has new 15 x 8 Corvette rally wheels with new 245 x 60 x 15
BFG Radial T/A's, and new trim rings. Center caps are still Chevy originals.
Brakes, calipers, rotors, and flexible brake lines are new. It has a custom auto
sounds stereo/cassette, remote 5 disc cd player mounted in the passenger side
storage box behind the seat, and rear mounted custom auto sounds box speakers
mounted to the back of the storage compartment. This was all brought from
Eckler's. Headlights, headlight doors, and signals all work. For the money this is
a great weekend driver that still turns heads.

I'm listing the car for lower than what I think it's worth because a few things need
to be fixed. First, the wiper's have been disconnected because the wiper door
does not work properly. Also, the manual steering box does need to be rebuilt.
The bearing and seal is bad and must be replaced (car has a wheel shimmy from
45-50 mph). I was going to put in power steering, but I never got the time. You
will also need to replace the fan switch and and some of the fiber optics in the
console do not work. I am listing my car because I have to finish two other
projects I have been working on and need the money as well as garage space
(1965 K-code Mustang, and a 1969 R/T 440 Charger).

Please e-mail me with any questions or comments. I want to be as honest as I can
be and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
