| Car history: |
1971 Corvette Convertible, 454 Turbo Jet V-8 LS-5 365 hp, 3:70 Positraction Rear Axle, Close Ratio 4-Speed, AM/FM Push Button Radio, Auxiliary Hard Top, Saddle Leather Interior with Rose Wood Inserts.
This car is ORIGINAL. I have owned it for 39 years and keep it in my building which has heat and air conditioning. I purchased the car when it was two years old with 4,803 miles. Both tops, the interior, drive train and paint are origional. The only exception is some touch up work I had done over the rear wheel wells and under the rear bumpers in 1973.
The auxiliary top is body color and is in the same fine condition as the car. I'm very proud of the fact that the car has NO door dings. There are some minor stone chips on the front edge of the rear fenders from driving. I am also proud of the map holder being almost as tight as when it was delivered.
The engine had the smog controls removed before I bought it. The engine is original and runs very well and has great oil pressure. I have included a picture of the oil pressure gauge showing the pressure at hot idle. There is still an original fan belt driving the water pump. I removed the original heater hoses, but I still have them. The car had chrome valve covers when I bought it, but I was given original orange covers which I have.
The brakes have been redone with stainless cylinders. The clutch, transmission and rear axle are original and in fine working order.
I have the Order Form Copy, Protecto-Plate, Owners Manual and the Tank Sticker (which is still on the car).
This is a great car. I hate to part with it. If you are a collector this is the kind of car that you're looking for.
I reserve the right to remove this car from the listing.
