| Car history: |
| 1969 Corvette Stingray 350 HP 4 Speed Small Block Coupe. White with red interior. 94XXX original miles. I rebuilt the car body off the frame about 20k miles (and 21 years) ago. The rebuild included the engine / transmission / read axle. The frame was sand blasted to bare metal and repainted with epoxy two part paint. It's not NCRS but it is very durable. I have owned the car for 20 of the past 22 years. A move forced me to sell it in 1999 but I kept right of first refusal and bought it back in 2001 and have had it ever since. The car runs and drives well but I don't use it as much as it deserves. There are some minor mechanical issues that don't keep it from being registered and driven as an antique in Texas. All of the known issues are described below. Has a vintage air A/C compressor running the factory A/C. Blower motor currently not working. Windshield wiper door not working. (I never drive it in the rain so I gave up easily when it came to fixing it). Power steering works but leaks from control valve. Belt currently disconnected. Has an aftermarket radio that is not working. Has some paint defects - see the pictures. The pictures of the rolling chassis are from the rebuild in late 1992. Here is a youtube video of the car being driven. My 11 year old was the camera man so it is a little shaky but you can hear the car running and that's the point. 94,288 miles from the odometer. $12,500. February 25, 2014. |
