Posted 10/28/2016 This is a completely numbers matching 1981 Corvette in nice driver condition. This Corvette looks great and runs well. It's loaded with options like the N90 aluminum wheels and mirror glass T-tops. This is solid car with no rust issues. The body is straight. The color combo is highly desired by Corvette owners. Red exterior and black leather interior. It looks awesome! It is the correct and original color scheme, verified by the codes on the trim tag. Exterior The paint is in good driver condition. Although not perfect nothing really noticeable from 5 to 10 feet away. Paint has some cracking on the front bumper and on the hood. There is a 4 inch scratch on the drivers 1/4 panel. For the most part the paint is shiny and smooth. Both doors open and close smoothly and frame is solid. The wheels are in great condition with no curb rash. Tires are in good condition with about 90 percent tread left. Tire size is correct 255/60R15. Interior The black interior is in great original condition. The black leather seats have some normal wear and tear. Drivers seat has a very small separation at one of the seams. Not major. These seat are original not aftermarket covers. Carpet is also original. No rips and fully intact. Rear carpet is nearly perfect! The dash is perfect.. No sun damage or cracks. The console and gauges look great. Lens are all clear. Door panels are in great shape. The original jack and handle are still in place. The car has the original spare. This is also a non smoked in vehicle! The interior is complete and looks awesome for the age of this vehicle. Must sit in to appreciate! Mechanical The car seems to be in good mechanical working order. The car starts every time. It drives and feels good on the road. The transmission shifts nicely through all of the gears. The throttle response is great! Feels good at take off and upon highway speed acceleration. There are no vibrations . No smoke from the tail pipes. Engine compartment is clean and well kept. Horn works as do all of the exterior lights, wiper, power windows and all of the gauges except for the tachometer. I believe is needs a new circuit board. $70. The blower for the heat and a/c does not work and the antenna will not go down. Original radio works but all speakers need replacement. The car does have a pull and could use an alignment. The car has been sitting for awhile (one of the reasons I want to sell it... I don't have time to enjoy all of my toys). There could be some other bugs to work out,but nothing I can think of right now. Oh and the Headlights are fully functioning. They go up and down as designed. There seems to be no problems with the vacuum system on the car. Side note the miles on the title are marked not original. It was explained to me that at one time Carmax owned this car and labeled it this way to avoid liability of incorrect mileage. According to car fax when the car was sold to Carmax at that time the tile showed actual miles 47,167 as of October 15, 2015. I have totally enjoyed my time driving this car. I always get thumbs up from other drivers. I simply do not have the time to give this car the TLC it deserves.
