Car history:
The first time out: A fresh completely restored, frame off, every nut and bolt restoration on a 1968 Corvette Convertible. This car was ordered at Webster Chevrolet in North Vernon, IN. and didn't get delivered until the 69 year models was on the lot. With the VIN # being 428217 and production ending for the 68 being 428566 this car was built in the last few days of production in 68, if not the last day. With some nice options. It was ordered for a woman that knew exactly what she wanted, so she ordered the Rare International Blue, with the Dark Blue Interior, with a White Convertible Top, White Pin Stripe Tires, Headrestaints, Power Steering, Am-Fm Radio, Auxiliary Hard Top, 370 Posi Rearend, L79 327 350 HP, with a M21 Muncie 4 speed. The car was always kept inside and never drove in the winters. I would have to say, that it was the most original and best taken care of car, I have ever bought. I mean about everything on the car was untouched had never had the alternator, starter, hoses, belts, radiator, and ect., removed from the car, so I think you get the point. I will guarantee that this engine pad is the original and no restamp. The car has its original tank sticker that was removed right from the fuel tank. The car comes with nice unrestored black vinyl auxiliary hard top. Also comes with window sticker, smog pamplet, and warranty booklet. We started the restoration on this car on Feb. 18 of 2008 taking pictures and documenting ever step of the restoration, finshing the car Aug. 25 2008. I loged 725 hours and my wife 510. Leaving no pieces untouched and no screw unturned. All work was done by she and I except for the rebuilding of the transmission, cad plating of the bolts and brackets, and rebuilding of the carb. The restoration was done using the NCRS judging guide, and the Vette Vues Fact Book. I feel that this car would judge very high, I also feel that this car is as good as the world has to offer, but we are not perfect this is a fiberglass car and there will be isues with dry down as I have tried to show in the pictures. When the light is right you can see some of the rivets above the headlight on the left side starting to show, but according to NCRS this is correct for a Corvette, and just means it's the original front end. We built the car back just like it was ordered except for the P02 Hub Caps, because we could not find a set nice enough. Every # on the car matches including glass, convertible top, T3 headlights, very few after market parts on this car. 78,000 miles. October 18, 2008
