1968 Corvette Convertible, L71 427/435hp Tripower, M21 close ratio 4 speed, K66, F41, N11, G81, Lemans Blue, Blue Interior, 2 tops, 56,834 miles. This is a 1968 Corvette Convertible with L71 427/435hp Tripower, M21 close ratio 4 speed, K66 Transistor ignition, F41 Special Suspension, N11 Off Road Exhaust, G81 positraction 3.70 ratio, U69 AM-FM Radio, C07 Hardtop and a White Soft Top, A02 Tinted Windshield, glass codes of IX XX NX XX, Lemans Blue, Medium Blue Interior with trim tag 976 414 I09, April 9 1968. This car is a project, and has no engine or transmission. A lady in the San Fernando Valley owned it throughout the 70's and 80's, and the pink slip still shows her name on it. It has not run since the early 1980's. The original engine and transmission are long gone, and she had a 454 in it for many years. The car was modified to look like a 1973 early in its life and was painted dark blue, and had white seats put in. The rear wheel wells are flared, and the front bumper was converted to a 1973 style. The car has negligible rust or deterioration, and spent its life in the California desert and San Fernando Valley. The car has not been in any major accidents, but was bumped lightly in the back drivers side corner after she spun it in a rain storm, and she never drove it again. The car does have the tank sticker, and all of the options can be made out from the pieces of the sticker. The tank sticker is in fragments with big pieces deteriorated away, but the important parts in the middle are legible. The odometer shows 56,834 miles which appears to be the original mileage. The front brake rotors have never been off and the calipers look to be the originals. The rear end is not original. Most of the car are there, but it needs many small parts and repairs. Plan on a complete restoration. Paint from tank sticker. 56,834 miles from odo. October 17, 2008. |
