| RARE BARN FIND STILL DRIVES - 68 CORVETTE w/ MATCHING NUMBERS. You are looking at a 1968 Corvette 327, matching numbers, 4 speed with 71k original miles. This was pulled from a farm in Hamburg, PA. It has been in dry storage since 1989. That's 20 years since it has been on the road. I have the last registration card and insurance card to back that up. I bought this to drive and restore. It was washed inside and out. The body has some repairs needed up front down low, and on the nose area. Picture looks better then the paint really is. Needs paint job, but does still shine. Tires are 98% and not dry rotted. I put in a new fuel tank and sending unit, new battery, new carpet, and a couple brake calipers. With some fresh gas and oil, the car started right up, but had a bad cam and lifters. So I replaced with proper 327 350hp cam and lifters. Door panels and dash are in good shape. Seats are drivers. I drove the vette 50 miles. It likes to be warmed up. It has pretty amazing power, does have a flat spot in the pedal then it goes like a rocket. Carb needs to be rebuilt. Transmission shifts perfect, reverse and all 4 speeds are smooth. Could use a clutch soon. It's 327 350hp and low miles and 4 speed. 71,481 miles from the odometer. February 23, 2009. |
