I have personally put over 50 miles on this Corvette and during that time it drove great and was completely reliable. The car was purchased by the second owner; she had owned the car since 1985. We have this Stingray priced to sell and are offering an excellent opportunity to own a very desirable Corvette at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on chrome bumper C3 Corvettes from 1968-1972 is absolutely red hot right now. Please peruse all of the photos, video, the extensive list of numbers, and other information below to get a true sense of how nice this Corvette really is. As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. Please note when checking the numbers that not only do the correct stampings and casting numbers appear on the parts, but all of the dates are also chronologically correct. This means that all of the parts were made and assembled in the correct order. For example, all of the dates for the individual engine components and the engine casting date should obviously precede the assembly date of the engine because the parts had to be produced before they could be assembled. All of the parts I checked follow this rule and are dated correctly. item number description; VIN: The last five digits are a sequence number so this is the 13,631st Corvette made for 1971. Exterior: The Classic White exterior is in excellent driver condition. As one can see in the photos, the finish has fantastic gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. The wheels are in great shape with a nice finish and no curb rash. Please note that is Corvette has the correct and original 4-clip style beauty rings, not the cheaper foreign made replacements. The tires have about 80 tread let. The chrome and other bight work is nice and bright with a good finish. There are a few small imperfections around the car that are too tiny to show up in pictures, but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. This Corvette has no rust issues. We have included many photos of the underside of the car and specific photos of the areas most prone to rust. The frame is totally solid around the key hole area in front of the rear tire and we have seen no evidence of corrosion around the windshield or birdcage. These are the most notorious spots for rust on a C3 Corvette. This Corvette looks as good in person as it does in the photos. Window Date Codes: Please note that almost all the glass on this Corvette, the Astro Ventilation door glass and even the removable rear window is date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of March 31, 1971 (H31). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage. Interior: The Black interior of the Corvette is in great condition and appears to be mostly original. The seats look just in person just as they do in the photos with no rips or holes. There is some light wear in the typical area where the driver gets in and out. Please not that these appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The carpet is in good condition condition as well with no holes or stains. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The radio works and gets good reception. The dash is in great shape with no fading or sun damage. The door panels are in nice condition and are not cracked in the normal spot where the driver's elbow sits. The jack and handle are present and stored correctly behind the passenger seat and the spare is still in the clam shell. These Corvette interiors are not known to wear well over time and the nice condition of this mostly original interior is a testament to the care and attention this car has received throughout its life. The interior looks as good in person as it does in the photos. Mechanical: This Corvette seems to be in good mechanical condition. As stated above, I have put over 50 miles on the car with no issues. The previous owner, who purchased the car in 1985, said that the engine has recently been rebuilt and the car has been driven less than 1,000 miles since. The engine starts right away every time, runs well, and idles well. The car is a great driver that feels nice the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that the car performs quite well overall. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast. Also, the engine compartment is clean and detailed as one can see in the photos. The exterior lights, interior lights, indicators, and wipers all work. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. The blower motor for the heater and a/c works on all speeds. The a/c works and blows cold. One can see the a/c compressor engaging properly in the video. There is a vibration present at certain rpms. The horn does not work. The vacuum system for the headlights works from both the headlight switch and the override switch under the column. The complete operation from both switches can be viewed in the video. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with T-tops out on a beautiful day. Overall Condition: Overall, this 1971 Corvette is in wonderful driver condition. Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing and as one can see, this car is quite correct. There are photos below of the VIN stamp on the engine block, suffix code, engine assembly date, and transmission codes. In my opinion and based on our experience the Chrome Bumper cars from 1968-1972 are the most collectible and hottest in the entire Corvette market right now. The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort. Sold for $21,900 on December 18, 2016.
