| This is the Real Deal tri-power 427/435 4-speed car. It is an original Southern California Blue Plate car that is original 53k miles. Never been in an accident and completely rust free! Includes Hardtop as well. Recently, the carbs were completely rebuilt as well as all new rear suspension. New valve cover gaskets, ignition system, and oil service were also performed. Also, brakes, master cylinder, shocks, and the radiator were all replaced. This Corvette was originally ordered with Gold paint, but the second owner couldn’t stand it and had it repainted to a factory Corvette Red color. Also, the original motor was replaced under warranty at the dealer when the car was a year old. Other than that, everything else on this car is original and unmolested. The fiberglass is in outstanding condition and shows no signs of wear. Recently, an NCRS level of inspection was performed on the vehicle. Here were the results: This car is the "real deal." ... 1969 Corvette 194679S704906 the 4,906th 1969 corvette Body assembly date C-17 or October 17, 1968, original interior ZQ4 or standard black vinyl, body color 980 or Riverside Gold, repainted 974 red, paint very good, only minor imperfections. Original big block 435hp, determined through configuration and visible options. Block is a CE code block, but a 3999289 casting, dated F.7.3, a May 7, 1973 casting. Heads are original 3919840 pair dated F-18-8 and H-1-8 June 18 and August 1, 1968 Transmission is M21 id P9R12 or Muncie, 1969, October 12 and vin 19S704906 Intake is correct 3937797 Carburetor numbers are as follows: 3902353 3940929 3902353 3659 4055 3659 7A2 911 7A2 Alternator is replacement Distributor is, 1111060 dated L 29, tachometer is original and a 435 redline The car has a K-66 inner fender mounting with the correct TI box 427 435 gas tank and lines are original, not restored, frame has correct front and rear 427 sway bars Rear end code is an FA or 427 only 3:70 ratio dated Sept 30, 1968 Car has original A.I.R(air injector reactor) setup and is installed! Radiator Overflow tank dated 68 K or October 68, no “I” was used. Car has all correct glass Body appears un-hit, the rear right bumper area has been repaired after a cracking around the mounting, the driver front fenderwell was reattached with fiberglass at some point, the rear valence was replaced with a new piece from a 1970-72 car and to accommodate the square exhaust tips, the edges of the quarters that the original exhaust tips were mounted to were ground out to accommodate them. In every other respect, paint, panel fit and body parts, they are original and unbelievably straight. The car looks best at dusk with very crisp and defined body contours, sometimes eradicated during a restoration. Chrome trim is very good, with the original nose crossed flag emblem being cracked as they did back in the day. Headlights work great, the wipers are capable of working but there are outstanding electrical issues that prevent the dash harness from enabling its operation. All parts are present. Regardless of the electrical items, which are obtainable, the vacuum system is awesome for a survivor. Driving the car responds well, but could use a front end bushing rebuild, other than that, the car is rattle free and operational. There is very little question that this car is an original tri-power 427/435 survivor L71 Corvette that has been simply maintained in its original configuration with most original parts still intact and operational. As repairs were needed, they were done as close to correct at the time. | |||||
