| Car history: |
| This car has the following features or options; A01- soft ray tinted glass(all windows) 31,270 total cars fitted with this, A31- power windows 9,816 total cars fitted with this, A82- head rest 38,762 cars fitted with this, A85- custom shoulder belts ONLY 600 cars fitted with this. Other options also on this car; C60- air conditioning, G81- possi rear axle, J50- power brakes, M40- turbo hydromatic trans, N37- tilt telescopic steering wheel, N40- power steering and i even as the orginal extra tire have one of the PT6- red stripped nylon tires. Other number of interest- these numbers are on the drivers side door jamb; CO7 - body, ZQ4- interior trim, and 980- exterior color(Riverside gold). NOW the history- i bought the car in 1988 in CA when i was in the service prior to the first gulf war, i didnt care for the Riverside gold so i had it painted 1972 corvette yellow. The guy i bought it from had the front coils shrunk 3/4 of an inch so it sits good and stocky. After leaving CA when got out of the service i brought it back to CO. I have taken great time and effort to ensure that any parts i replace, weather cosmetic or machanical were parts of reproduction from Chevrolet so they matched. I have waited for many of the parts, such as the radio arial being stainless steel for days or weeks so it could be an after market and match. i have shown the car off and on and won some awards for best factory likeness, mostly however i would drive it in the town parades. The car is extremely quick and runs like a rocket! it has a shift kit in the trans so it can spin the tires between 2nd and 3rd shift. the only problems i have had is the drivers side headlight boot has a small leak so the head light comes up slow, and the air conditionor lost a bearing last summer so i cut the belt and left it for replacement this year. The body lines are good and the fiber glass has VERY FEW stress cracks, i have however noticed a few small bubble in the paint. The three small compartments behind the seats in the interior need new door trim but nothing major. Like i said i have taken great care to keep this stock and as close to the same as when it rolled off the line (other than the gold paint). Colors from the owner. Built date is C07. December 24, 2009. |
