| Car history: |
I have a California 1969 Corvette 427 4 Speed that was Customized by the King of Customs Mr. George Barris in 1976. Featured in Corvette Fever Magazine in January of 2003. This will be hard to believe after looking over my pictures. The Paint on this Corvette is 32 years old it has been untouched since Barris customized the car in 1976. This Car has 70,218 All Original Miles on her it Runs and Drives like Rocket on wheels. Just make sure you head is against the head rest when you hit the gas this car is Very Fast!!! This stunning Corvette was born in St Louis Missouri in 1969. The car was driven for 7 years by the original owner. In 1976 the car was taken to Barris Kustom Industries where Barris worked his Magic. Here is a list of Customizing George Barris did to this Corvette. The Front and Back Fender Flares, Front Air Dam, Both Side mirrors, and real Cobra Fuel Filler and cap. All of the work Barris did to this car is breath taking to say the least the Quality and craftsmanship shows. This Corvette bares the Barris Badges on both fenders and the Barris Autographed name plate on the console. Also comes with a Barris Autographed Certificate of Authenticity. After the Custom work was Completed by Barris a Beautiful Red paint job was applied, then this Corvette was Immediately stored in 1976 where it laid to rest until 2003. In 2003 this car was removed from storage after 27 years. The first road test was at Laguna Seca then driven at the Concorso Italiano. This Corvette is a Factory 427 4 Speed car. It is now powered by a non #'S matching 454 Big Block Chevy with less than 500 miles on it. Here is a list below of all the goodies this car has. For those of you that don't know George Barris he was the man that built the Original Bat Mobile in the 1960's he also built the General Lee for "The Dukes of Hazard", Beverly Hillbillies Mobile, Kitt for Knight Rider, and the Adams Family Car along with many other cars seen in Movies throughout the world. George Barris is a true legend in the car industry. For more information about George Barris please check out his site below. www.barris.com I have 70 More Pictures of this Corvette please check them out Here> http://s260.photobucket.com/albums/ii12/DustinWright1436/ This Corvette is a one of a kind George Barris Documented Custom for a serious collector or just a true Barris fan. The car is very presentable but not perfect please remember the paint is 32 Years old you will find some stress cracks on the hood, fenders, rear window, some scratches on the hood, and some scratches on the T-top on one side. Even though this car is Very nice I don't want you to think it is a perfect #1 trailer Queen. I would rate the paint a 7 out of 10 interior a 8.5 out of 10 and the engine & drive train a 10. I provided detailed pictures of the typical corvette stress cracks and pictures small paint chips. Overall this will be great car for the True George Barris Fan. It turns heads on every corner and runs and drives like a dream. 70,218 miles. March 7, 2008. |
