Car history:
It's a 1968 Corvette coupe. I bought this vehicle about ten years ago and have been working on it since. I have more than $20,000 invested in the car which includes $11,000 for the purchase of the vehicle. In a moment I'll list most of the things that I can remember on the vehicle. Here is an overview of what it is. It's a 68 Corvette. It has T-tops and the rear window is removable. It currently has a big block motor that has been stroked to 496 C.I. The motor is now backed with a Doug Nash 4+1 five speed. The rear IRS is stock (very low geared) with the exception of offset trailing arms. The cooling system has been completely upgraded to a twin electric fan setup and huge aluminum radiator. The motor is digitally fuel injected (Accel). As you can see the hood is not stock. I fabricated the hood myself and incorporated a stingray style hood on top of an aftermarket hood (about an additional 5" of clearance). The hood needs to be refinished since there are some inperfections in the paint and hood. The interior needs finished as well. I bought a pair of door panels, but did not like the way they fit. It needs a new driver's side dash insert and the passenger side needs to be put on. All the big stuff has been done. It runs very strong but the fuel injection needs to be programmed for the larger injectors (a laptop for the DFI injection system comes with the vehicle). This is NOT a kids car. It probably has in the area of 500 + horsepower and is a lot to handle. I will list the things that it needs to be finished mechanically. Needs: All calipers need rebuilt or upgraded. Needs a radiator overflow tank. Dash pad insert of the speedometer side. Air Conditioning needs hoses connected. Door panels need replaced. Driver's side door where the mirror base mounts is cracked. Hood to be refinished and latch installed. Alternator needs to be rewired to eliminate the regulator (new chrome alternator included).
What it has: iron block 454 stroked out to 496 C.I. The motor is internally balanced. Eagle crank, H-beam rods, roller hydraulic cam with a gear drive, forged hyperutectic pistons (10.3 compression), Fluid style harmonic balancer (CCI, i believe), Crane roller rockers, molly push rods with pushrod guides Accel Digital fuel injection, 42 LB. injectors, an older laptop comes with the car to configure the fuel injection, K&N fillter, tall ball milled valve covers, 7 quart oil pan, high volume oil pump, sps bolt kit, performance valves with valve throats opened up, MSD ignition, Billet MSD tach drive distributor (DFI computer set up for closed loop system). Performance wires, March serpentine pulley system including a new chromed Sanborn A/C compressor and power steering unit, Big aluminum radiator, twin electric fan setup (with custom shroud (not plastic tied to the radiator), aluminum fill tank, Corvette performance header sidepipes with huge primarys and equally big 4" sidepipes (very expensive), New battery, new aftermarket steering column and steering wheel, USA-1 Radio with Corvette logo on the front, A/C controls are new, New rear shocks and offset trailing arms, wheels are 16" and are new, tires are directional Goodyear Eagle F1's: 245-45ZR16 on rear and 225-50 ZR16 on the front (ZR rated to 150 MPH), 7000 redline factory tach, Doug Nash 4+1 five speed with heavy duty clutch. I have receipts for most of it. 91,602 miles. Colors from the owner. August 11, 2009.
