Car history:
This car has a 4 speed manual transmission and a non matching #'s 350 engine from a later model. I can't find any stampings on the block so I can't verify exactly what it is out of. It starts right up and once warm, settles into a nice lopey idle. The side pipes sound real nice and it has enough of a lope to it to indicate a mild cam. It runs quite well and goes straight down the road. It steers well and it shifts smoothly. It has a full clutch and brake pedal. The car has no power steering or brakes. It has a nice, straight, solid frame. It has a fairly new paint job on it. The car is a really nice entry level car and delivers a strong appearance at 3 feet. It's even pretty darn good close up. This is not the car for a serious collector but is a nice solid entry level car for an occaisonal car cruise and burger joint type guy. It's one of those cars that's nice enought that you wouldn't take it out in the rain,....but you wouldn't have to kill yourself if happened to get wet while you were out. The 1969 is a popular year for the C3 series Corvette as it still has the chrome bumpers. The bumpers are in excellent condition. It has the original glass and still has the Asto Ventilation Logo on the windows. There is a small chip in the windshied. This would be easily repaired at any local auto glass place. The interior is black and the seats and the carpet are in pretty nice shape. I would say the interior is about a 7 on a scale of 1-10. The fiberglass and paint are smooth and the paint shines nicely. It is painted like the ZL-1. That's why the black spear on the hood. I think they made about two of those ZL-1's in '69. It has a couple of small flaws in the paint. Not hardly any, if any at all, stone chipping (pretty new paint). The tires seem almost new. The head lights, tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, all work. The wipers and the wiper door work. The wiper door likes some help sometimes. The horn doesn't work. They never do. The gages all work (even the fiber optics) except the tach and speedo. The speedo is probably the cable or maybe a gear? The tach won't work with the distributor that comes on the later model motor. A mechanical tach drive distributor is available through Summit Racing Products. I have not had a lot of seat time in this car. The weather is not yet nice enough where I live. However I have had it out a couple of times on nice days. It turns heads...., in a good way. April 1, 2008.
