Posted 07/07/2016 You are looking at my 1977 White Corvette with blue leather interior. This is a difficult decision for me to sell this car but after much thought, I have decided to go ahead and put it up for sale. I am 60 years old now and have not driven this car other than very short distances at rare times since I bought it in 2008. I bought it to replace my original 1977 white Corvette that I sold and regretted very much in 1994. I love this car and hope it will find a home with someone who will love it as much as I do. This car has actually had five owners in its lifetime. The original owner kept it for approximately 3 years. They sold it to the second owner who loved it very much and kept it until his passing. He kept all paperwork with it which will be included with the car along with all of the paperwork for it since I've owned it. The original owner's daughter inherited the car and kept it awhile but didn't drive it very much so she sold it to a man who in turn put it on eBay and sold it to me in 2008. I have had the windshield wiper motor replaced, carburetor rebuilt and the engine was rebuilt by Cresap's of Cumberland, Maryland in 2010. It has a new battery, alternator and radiator. It is a beautiful white but as it is original paint, it has the spider webbing, wearing of paint on the back bumper and some other marks on it which will be shown in photos. I did not want to have it repainted as the original paint sometimes means more to a buyer than a repaint. It's really not that bad and cleans up nice with a good waxing. The interior is blue leather and is in good condition for its age. There is cracking on the leather steering wheel and some other wear and tear on the seats. I will show detailed photos of the interior to show any marks or issues. I had a new radio and CD player installed at my teenage daughter's request when I bought the car. The tires were new in 2008 and I have only put about 1,000 miles on the car since buying it so the tires are 8 years old but they have not been used very much. This car has power windows, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel and a/c that works well. The headlamps work well. The engine sounds great. The t-tops haven't leaked recently but they did some before a friend of ours suggested using Vaseline around the tops to seal them. It seems to have worked. It is a real eye-catching car and fun to drive. It has a clear title and is ready to go. This car is smoke-free and pet-free. There is a copy of the original receipt when the car was new that comes with it.
This car was originally sold by the Payne Chevrolet Company, Georgetown Road, Owenton,, KY. The date shipped was July 12, 1977. That seems very ironic to me as this auction will end July 12, 2016. The suggested retail price for this car was $9,916.65. I am going to list it for the same price as suggested retail when it was new. The options listed are power windows, four-season air conditioning, sport mirrors LH REM & RH MAN, 350-4 BBL V-8 engine, Turbo hydramatic transmission, standard emission system, tilt-telescopic steering wheel, GR 70-15/B S/B Radial W/lettered tires, AM/FM Radio, Convenience Group, Classic White, ADD2 Indigo Blue Leather Bucket Seats.
I have a folder full of receipts, etc for this car that comes with it. This is a very personal and emotional decision for me to be making and so I am sincerely hoping the buyer will truly love this car. It is not perfect. I am still feeling pretty undecided but I am going to put it in the Lord's hands and if it is meant to sell, I know it was meant to be. Thanks for looking and for putting up with my indecision and emotional attachment to this car. |
