1969 Corvette Stingray - First year of the 350 ci, 327 ci. no longer available - First year the ignition was positioned on the steering column - Removeable rear window - Stingray script nameplates on front fenders now one word. - Back up lights integrated into the inboard tail lights. - Introduction of the Astro Ventillation system - Steering wheel reduced from 16 to 15 inch diameter permitting easier entry. - Flush mounted exterior door handles eliminating the seperate release button - Wheel width increased from 7 to 8 inches Under the hood, Power Train and Mechanicals 350 ci., block is period correct to the 1969 production year. At some point in its life a mild cam, Edelbrock intake, HEI distributor, and a select few engine dress up parts were added (refer picture). Muncie 4 speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter. Posi-trac rear axle. Manual brakes and steering. Prior to my ownership all original A/C components had been removed. I have replaced the steering shaft joint (rag joint), water pump, ignition wires and starter. The brake caliper seals are leaking thus the stroke on the pedal is long, brakes are soft. Therefore the calipers need O-Ring style replacement seals. Windshield wiper motor not working, requires a rebuild. WindshielD wiper door not functioning properly so it has been removed but has been retained. Please note the alternator is only in the position it is in because I was changing the water pump at that time but has since been reinstalled. Interior: Original Saddle in color. I removed all carpeting, one seat cushion and seat cover because all were original to the car and showing signs of deterioration and age. The seat frame itself is in good condition. The second seat cover is fine, however, the seat cushion will also require replacement at some point. Door panels are fine, the original Astro Ventilation windows work as they should. Dash is original and in good condition. All guages work with the exception of the clock (no surprise) and tachometer. The tachometer does not work because this replacement HEI distributor does not have the provision for a mechanical tach. drive, however, one is available aftermarket. All lights works including FUNCTIONING vacuum operated headlights. The fibre optic indicators on the console also work (very rare). T-top interior panels and moulded plastic seat back panels are cracked and will require replacement. Exterior: Exterior is Tuxedo Black and I think it's safe to say that it has had a repaint at somepoint in its 47 years. Yes there are some paint scratches, defects and blemishes. These are primarily along the door edges and 3 spots on the hood. These are noted in the photo's. Bumpers appear to be original, no twists, dent or dings. Badging and nameplates are in place. The car is currently sitting on storage wheels and tires but the original Rally wheels and centre caps wearing Firestone Fire Hawk tires will be reinstalled when shipped. For approximately $1050.00 in parts purchases (carpet, seat cushions and seat cover, brake caliper seal kits) the car can be on the road. January 8, 2016.
