NUMBERS MATCHING 327! Correct 4 SPD Trans! July 1st, 1968 Build Date. Originally in 972 Polar White. MOTOR- 3914678. TRANS- 3925660 Muncie 4 Spd. REAR END- AWW313F. Excellent Driver. Serviced. TEXAS CAR. Part of a Private Collection. Evolve Motors is pleased to red present our clients gorgeous 1968 Corvette with a factory 4 Spd. This '68 Convertible was built July 1, 1968 and originally finished in Polar White over the standard black interior. The car appears to have been painted red sometime in the last 15-20 years. The car shows very nice and is an excellent example of a 4 Spd 327 Driver. The body lines look nice and straight and the car shows no signs of any major repair. The door, top, and hood mesh all looks good and close tight. The paint has some minor blemishes here and there as you can see in the pictures. I would give the paint a B+ condition. The paint shines bright and deep and really looks great. The headlights, grills, trim, and glass all show nicely and function as they should. Inward the interior is intact and looks sharp (missing a couple small knobs as you can see but cheap to replace). The seats, carpets and dash all show nice. The console and gauges show some patina as to be expected. The gauges appear in good working order. The top looks like new and is in fantastic shape as is the frame itself. This '68 is powered by its ORIGINAL numbers correct 327 Motor. The owner recently installed a brand new Edelbrock 600 CFM carb and spacer. The car fires right up and idles nice and smooth. There is no smoke detected on startup or while runnning. The motor is backed with a nice exhaust system that sounds great and is not obnoxious. No engine noises detected and it makes really nice power. The underside shows normal wear and tear. We note some newer suspension parts in the form of bushings and hardware. It has light rust but structurally it looks good and sound. There is light damage to one cross bar under the drivers seat that looks like a misplaced jacking point or debris off the street. We also note that one body mount cup on the drivers side rear is rusted and we might recommend replacing at some point. Otherwise the birdcage looks fine. Overall we cannot be too critical of this car because it really is a gorgeous driver and in excellent shape. Color codes from the trim plate. Built date is L01. $32,500. May 15, 2015. |
