| 1969 Corvette Convertible WAS AN ORIGINAL BIG BLOCK CAR. White with Black Interior. THIS IS A REAL "Barn Find". NOT!!! ORIGINAL Motor - WAS a 390hp / 427ci. DOES NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL MOTOR. HAS Big Block Half Shafts, Sway Bar, Radiator / Support, GM "BB" Hood. Correct Gauges - Tach / Oil / Speedo, GM Hood and 427/390 Console Plate. Currentley has what appears to be a mid 80's 350ci. Casting # 14810207 Pad # V1053800. The History - We have been told that the Corvette was bought and put in storage in 1995 by a man (now deceased) in IL with the intention of doing a Total Restoration. Upon his death, a dealer, Gullwing Motors in NY, purchased the Corvette from the Estate in 2005 and resold it to a Farmer, John Myers, in Westminster MD. At the time the 69 ran, and John just backed it into the Barn, also with the intention of doing a Full Restoration. John decided to sell the 69 because of too many other Projects. The 69 sat in the Barn until last thursday, when we picked it up on our way to the Knoxville (Sevierville) Corvette Expo. Description – This is a 1969 Corvette Convertible PROJECT that needs a TOTAL Cosmetic and Mechanical Restoration. The Interior is complete and original, except for an aftermarket Radio. The Headrest Seats are solid and except for one section on the Drivers side, in nice shape as seen in the pictures. The dash and components are original and complete. It will need an Interior Kit. The Top Assembly appears to be is in really nice shape and even has a usable (3 out of 10) Canvas. The Body Panels appear to be original, but have areas that need attention, as shown in the pictures. The Body has been repainted many years ago with heavy coats of Primer and Enamel. It will need to be stripped. We have not tried to get the 69 running, so we do not know the operational condition of this Vehicle. The Frame is very rusted under the doors, and needs, at the least, a section on both sides including the end caps. The "UPS" in front of the rear wheels appear to be solid and usable. This means that you can use any front frame section from 68 to 82. The later ones are very reasonable. The L/S Door drags when you open it due to the rust underneath that mount. It does close and align. There is something wrong with the lock mechanism on the R/S Door, and we have not been able to get it open. 117,682 miles. April 5, 2008. |
