Car history:
1969 corvette stingray convertible originally had the legendary 427 - 435 Hp. Now with a Built 540ci/ 676HP!!! on current carb set up/pump gas...did dyno at 708hp with 900 carb on it but harder to keep tuned. Overall a lot of money and time have been poured into the 3rd owner car, Professionally Restored. I have all receipts/ paper work/ documentation it is a “7.5-8+” overall cosmetically, a “9.5+” mechanically! It has approx 7,850 miles since complete overhaul (maybe 5-6 years ago) and about 1240 miles on new engine and transmission! I have listed a lot of things below, but it would take a lot more space to get it all…
ENGINE: Derebery Performance Race Engine, Merlin 9.8 Block, Hydraulic Roller Camshaft, 4340 Crankshaft, 4340 I-Beam Rods, 2618 Flat Top Pistons, 9.6:1, 10qt. Offshore Oil Pan, World Products Aluminum Heads, Stainless/Inconel Valves, 4150 Flange Aluminum Dual Plane Intake Low rise. Custom 8 quart Moroso Oil Pan, Custom Aluminum Radiator with Dual Fans, Custom Hooker Competition Chromed Headers, 4 into 1 chrome side pipes and 2 ½ headers. THIS ENGINE IS BULLET PROOF, and an amazing machine that will leave you breathless, absolutely mechanically a “9.5”!
TRANSMISSION: The SUPER STREET 5-Speed,Richmond line of Bullet Proof transmissions. Fully rated at 600 + ft. lbs. of torque. Based on the successful Richmond NASCAR-type design and technology, The design allows for more robust gears and components to give you the torque handling capacity higher horsepower cars require. Transmission is a “9”, might adjust the shifter a bit/as desired.
DRIVELINE: Duntov Motor Company rear differential 3.08 custom built for 700+ HP, New Style Eaton Carrier with Carbon Fiber Clutch Pack, 3.08 rear end, differentials with new ring and pinions, as well as new GM stub axles, a new HD rear cover, Timken bearings, seals, and an Eaton clutch pack. and is guaranteed to perform perfectly under normal conditions and use for three years. Rear end and drive line is a “9.5”
SUSPENSION: Eckler's replacement front adjustable anti-sway bar kit, polyurethane bushings and mounts, all new hardware and components, Vette Brake Products -Rear Dual Mount Spring kit, Rear Bilstein Shocks, Poly Adjustable Smart Struts, Poly Trailing Arm Bushings, Front differential mount bushing, and the Cross member Reinforcement kit
INTERIOR: Corvette USA-6 AM/FM Stereo, 240 Watts. ORIGINAL INTERIOR tan, seat headrest could use restoring, carpet is original and in OK condition but would need to be replaced to “show”. All Gauges are original and ALL WORK!!! The factory radio comes with car, and the factory clock needs to be reset/adjusted when car sits, so probably needs rebuilt to be accurate. Overall Interior is probably a “7”, but remember it is all original and unmolested, no cut and chop here!
EXTERIOR: Genuine Boyd Coddington Wheels/ Polished aluminum wrapped with BF Goodrich G-Force TA Drag Radials/NEW, Paint is “Good” Overall condition, few minor touch up spots needed to show, paint is a “7.5-8” overall, body for a original 1969 fiberglass corvette is a “8.5” to“9”. 4 into 1 chrome side pipes and 2 ½ headers
THE GOOD: Almost every known mechanical part has been replaced or upgraded to the very best in quality and performance available! Brand new Factory Convertible top (black).
The Less Than Perfect: A few minor chips in paint, only surface deep, need to be touched up if you plan to “show” seriously, never did as I am happy with it. Would add a roll bar…but you will understand why when you drive it…CRAZY FAST/ SCREAM LIKE A LITTLE GIRL SCARY FAST…. Well I never screamed/ at least not for anything other than pure joy, but unless your life insurance policy is paid up, your wife may insist on a roll bar anyway! 7,823 miles. March 16, 2010.
