| Car history: |
1969 Corvette convertable. I started a full body off restoration in January of this year. The frame was sand blasted and painted. All suspention components were repainted and rebuilt. All new tie rod ends and ball joints were installed. Trailing arms got new bearings and seals and bushings. Drive axels and drive shaft were rebuilt and painted as well. New power brake booster and power steering. All parts used were the top of the line USA made no inferior parts were used. New gas tank, sending unit, fuel and brake lines were installed as well. All bolts, clips and fastners were cleaned and painted. Stainless sleeved calipers and new pads are installed. The rear end got new axels, bearings and seals. Brand new clutch, and the M22 transmission was rebuit and is the number matching to the car as is the rear end. The motor is a 1969 Corvette 350 as stamped but not the same vin#. Carburetor is 1969 Corvette and is rebuilt, the water pump is new as is the starter and alternator. There is a set of NOS Delco ignition wires and the correct distributor. Original ralley wheels are fitted with correct 70 series tires all 5 are new. The spare tire carrier is installed with its rim and new tire. New motor mounts and transmission mounts installed. All the correct exterior insulation was installed prior to body replacement. The engine compartment and under body are show quality in originality. The car has the original spring clip battery cables. Correct early storage compartment (not reproduced at this time). Almost all of the aluminum rivets in the car were replaced as I removed all the bracketts and repainted all the parts. I rebuilt the heater box and the astro vents in the rear deck as well. All wiper door componenets are there and in great shape. Whats left is to install new wiring, vaccume lines, interior, exhaust and paint. all the mechanical is done. The car comes with a hard top but no soft top or frame. Car has power windows, tilt tele column, power steering and brakes. I cant find the tack at this point and I dont have a rebuildable drivers head light frame. Included is the original green then painted black lower dash parts, pillar and windshield top moldings. Please look at the parts pictured and ask if you dont see somthing as I probably do have it. I do have rocker mouldings for it. All bumpers and bracketts are there. The body has no major flaws and is all the original glass. There are a few cracks that need to be fixed but nothing major. 983 Fathom green 427 green vinyl Build D01 November 1st 1968 Car 6555 in production |
