Car history:
3) 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible with a Big Block 427 motor and a 4 speed transmission. For starters this car is a beast, with the period correct 427 motor and aluminum heads this car is pushing around 450+ horse power if not more. The motor was built under 3k miles ago at no expense spared and runs, sound, and looks great. The three two barrel (3x2) carburetors setup is just amazing in every way and looks aggressive every time you open the hood. The cooling system was upgraded to an all aluminum big block radiator and all new GM hoses. The 4 speed mounted transmission was built at the same time to handle well over 600hp, so it never feels under-powered. You can cruise down the highway at a regular pace along with all other cars but, if you were to step on it sucks you right back and leaves all the cars behind as you go through the gears. At the time of the rebuilt headers with side pipes were installed to finish off the car and they sound amazing. Nothing like hearing the powerful high compression 427 running, music to my ears. All the suspension parts, seals, ext, were gone through and were replaced if needed. The rear was lowered about an inch and a half to give it that sleek design feel. The dark green metallic paint shines nicely with normal wear but by no means a show or museum quality but is worth showing off at the local car shows and local cruises like I did. It also features a Big Block or LT 1 style hood, and a high rev line tach that was only found on big block corvettes. The newly upholstered leather seats and new carpet through the car was just finished a few months ago, shows no wear and is in excellent condition. All the chrome is in great shape. Recently installed all new brakes, and 4 brand new tires with plenty of thread left for years to enjoy. All the lights, turn signals and gauges work as they should, the headlights go up and work as they should. Underneath is all solid the frame is straight as an arrow and very clean with no signs of rot or repairs. The car was always stored in a climate controlled garaged and adult driven. It was only enjoyed on sunny days and never seen rain, snow, or salt. The car shows only 47,280 miles on the body and less then 3k on both motor and trans. This is believed to be an original Big Block Corvette by some corvette guys at the local car shows. She comes with 2 tops, one hard top that is painted to mach the color of the car, and the other a soft top that is in great shape. This is a perfect example of a great quality classic chrome bumper Stingray Corvette that is only going up in demand with the most desired motor and trans setup. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to enjoy the car as much as I would hope lately do to busy work schedule, and life getting in the way, so time has come to part with this iconic and popular desirable true muscle car.
This classic Stingray Corvette is a perfect reminder of what a true muscle car should be. You want a great corvette with a healthy and the most desirable big block motor and a 4 speed to back it up, this is it. Take it to local car shows, enjoy it, this is one Vette that will always put a smile on your face and thumbs up from everyone every time you drive it. Sold for $25,520 on September 25, 2016.
2) 1968 Corvette, 427 engine, Three two barrel carburetors. 3X2. NOM, 4 speed, Convertible, with hardtop. New carpet, seats, aluminum radiator, water pump, hoses, extra parts, Manual. New interior pieces. This car should have paint done to it. Ended on August 10, 2016.
1) This is a GREAT barn find! It has 47,000 original miles! Over the last 16 years this car has only been driven 1,000 miles! I recently put in a fresh 427 that has less than 100 miles on it. I also put on brand new tires and side pipes. The color is black with metal flake and looks great when you are driving in the sun! The car runs and drives nice. It has no cracks in the fiberglass, but it could use a new paint job. It comes with both hard and soft tops. Intake Manafold #3919852. Carborator Front and Rear #3659 Middle #3660 (All 3 are freshly rebuilt). Head #3919840. Transmission #3925660. Engine Block #3963512. 46,994 miles from the odometer. Color codes from the owner. July 5, 2010.
