| This is a GORGEOUS 1969 Corvette Stingray convertible with a matching numbers 350ci/300hp engine and 4-speed manual tranny, with power steering. It is the original Cortez Silver but with leather seats. The original seats were vinyl. I purchased the car in 2002 from the previous owner who lived in Michigan. The car was originally an Arizona car and the documentation he passed on to me confirms that. I have the original manual as well as many, many maintenance receipts from then until now. I also have an appraisal that was performed prior to me purchasing the car and the value in 2002 was set at $22,000.00. The car's paint was not the original Cortez Silver and was showing signs of age. I spent over $10,000.00 having a frame-on restoration by the Corvette Shop here in Tampa. Michael Sylvester, the owner, personally did the restoration. The work was done in 2005 and the car has been garage-kept and hardly driven ever since. A few things are left to be done, such as the repair of a small tear on the passenger side convertible top. This may be able to be repaired without having to replace the entire top, which is still in pretty good shape with no discoloration of the rear window. The convertible frame is in great shape. Also, the interior remains in pretty much original condition. The carpet is in an acceptable condition in my opinion and not in need of replacement. The seats, as previously mentioned, are leather and the driver's side is in need of reupholstering but is ok if you are not picky. The dash and instrumentation are fine, except the odometer does not turn. This can easily be fixed and wasn't important to me, since I learned some collector car insurance companies keep track of mileage - unless the odometer doesn't work! (I have her insured through Haggerty for about $300.00 per year, with a $33,000.00 stated value and FULL coverage). The most mileage I have put on the car is the trip my wife and I took to Bowling Green, KY for the 50th Anniversary Corvette Caravan. (That was a blast! One of the posted pics was taken at the Atlanta Motor Speedway - a stop on the way). The console shows some signs of wear, but I like the "original-survivor" look. The car has an Alpine CD player and stereo with remote. Speakers are mounted next to the air vents on both the passenger and driver's side. These speakers may be removed with very little defacement to the original condition of the interior. There are also two speakers located in the rear compartment. The passenger side air vent is in need of some attention to make it fully open and close as it should. The hood that covers the wiper blades must be opened manually from the knob under the steering column, and then the wipers are turned on by the wiper switch, as normal. Otherwise, the vacuum system works as it should and opens the headlamps properly. (I had the choice during the restoration to use a different hood that would eliminate the wiper hood all together but I chose to keep the car as original as possible). There was a repair made to the passenger side fender, I believe, that the Corvette Shop discovered while it was stripped down. I also noticed the appraisal suggests something to this effect. Michael, at The Corvette Shop reworked the small part of the fender while he was at it. Also, the original hood had been cracked and repaired by a previous owner. I cracked it again when I accidently dropped the hood down and it hit the wing nut to the breather cover. This happened before I left on the Caravan in 2003 and I was pretty upset. I replaced the original hood with another original 1969 small block hood that came off of a Vette owned by a person locally. The tires are in reasonably good condition with a good amount of tread left. The engine and transmission were rebuilt prior to my purchase of the car and had about 30,000 miles on it at that time.
