2) Available documents show this as originally a California car. Last of the front chrome bumper corvettes, with low 40,000's (40,400) mileage believed to be correct, documented with many receipts, T-top, removable rear window, Leather interior, factory air (assume it is presently not operable - compressor turns on, but no cold air) (driver's window has electric motor issue - motor works, sounds like stripped gear - have uninstalled new drive gear parts and a new GM window regulator). Base 350 engine with automatic transmission (easy to drive and easy on drive train wear and tear). You will find the usual assortment of small blemishes and chips, considering the 43 year age, and I have receipt evidence of body repair in the distant past. This is a relatively nice car, starts, runs, drives and stops beautifully, and can be used either as a limited summer cruiser, or an excellent base for a thorough restoration. Sold as is. All sale proceeds must be unconditionally in my bank prior to delivery. Color is Steel Cities Gray. No bid at starting $23,000 on March 13, 2017. No bid at starting $21,000 on May 12, 2017. 1) This Steel Cities Gray 1972 Corvette (last year of full chrome) T-top has Very Low Miles and was garaged by the last owner who put very few miles on the car. I bought the car because he was in desperate need of cash around Christmas time. He claimed that it was an ALL NUMBERS MATCHING Car except the carburetor. When I bought the car it did not run but he said there was no problems with it when I bought it. It had been sitting in his garage for 6 years without starting it. Since then I replace the Battery, the gas tank (it had rust and pin holes in the bottom), Oil and filter, U-Joints plugs, shocks, transmission fluid, differential fluid, power steering fluid, break fluid, and radiator flushed. Waiting for the Carburetor to show up in the mail, I changed the Master cylinder, calipers and break lines flushing the system with Dot 3 break fluid. The pads had less then 6000 miles so I didn't change them because they were like new. Once I got the car running, it was in need of a new Carburetor so I installed a period correct carburetor, so I believe the car to be all matching numbers now. After getting the period correct rebuilt carburetor the car runs Good Now. I did have the Rally Wheels sand blasted and powder coated and got some New Beauty Rings (old ones were dented) and put Brand New BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires on. The car drove pretty good, but had a U-Joint go out so I changed all 6 joints, two on each half axel and both on the drive line. I also put on new shocks and had the front end alignment. It has black original leather seats in fair condition with some slight cracking on the drivers side, but no rips or tears. The car needs new rubber weather stripping. The lights do open and work properly. 39,724 miles from the odometer. BiN $22,000. April 13, 2015. |
